These are perfect to hold the food down
Perfect size to put on top of the ferment and heavy enough to hold it down. They are glass, so as long as you don’t drop and break them, they are very durable. I have tile floors and I’m not willing to drop one on purpose just to see how it performs under that kind of pressure, but for fermentation, they do their job very well. The design of the little grip on the top makes it easier to remove than no grip at all. The little idea box under the space to write my review is suggesting I say something about versatility and smell. Well, it’s glass, so it doesn’t smell. As for versatility, I suppose you could use one for a paperweight, but I would rather make another jar of fermented red cabbage. I would buy again.

I love ❤️ these weights.
The media could not be loaded. These are great, but wider large mouth jars, like my half gallon jars with widemouth lids, are wider, so this will not weigh things down across the top of those wider jars, but that is my problem for having big mama jars. 😉 The weights work perfect for standard jars. I love them, and would maybe marry them, but my wife would probably backhand me and then everyone would ridicule me for marrying weights. My life would go downhill, but for fermenting in widemouth jars, these are the best and easy to grab and lift from jars. Great design followed through with quality production.

Love the product, and the Customer Service was outstanding!
These are perfect for pickling in mason jars! I bought these to help with weighing down my veggies when I ferment in wide mouth mason jars. They fit very well at the mouth of the jar with just enough clearance around the outside. Being glass, they are easier to clean than some of the ceramic/porous stone weights I've seen. The only (slight) downside is that you have to fill your mason jar up with veggies to the bottom edge of the shoulder of the jar, at least, to prevent the weight from dropping below to where the jar widens. This is more of a function of the shape of the jar though, and not the pebbles. Also wanted to say that the customer service is great! One of my four pebbles arrived with a slight chip in it(still usable), and I was debating on contacting customer service. I was planning to do a ferment that weekend, and didn't want to send the whole order back just to replace 1 weight. Before I even had a chance to call (like a day or so after I got them), I got an email from their customer service asking how I like my order, and if I had any issues to let them know. I replied about the chip, and in less than a day they had a replacement on its way out to me. Not only did I not have to send back the whole order or even the chipped weight, but they sent me 2 replacement weights! That is proactive and considerate customer service! I would buy from this vendor again without hesitation!

They get the job done, expensively
Good product, and does the job weighing down my fermented foods. If I had it to do over again I would just buy the Plus size ones. I use Fido style (bale top) jars and need to use 2 or 3 smaller sized ones to weigh down the veggies. They even seem a little small for mason jars.I don't know the cost of material that goes into making these products, but they seem pretty expensive for what they are (glass disks). I guess that is the price of enjoying a hipster approved hobby.

Better than the others I've used...
I have other glass weights but these are my favorite by far because they're so much easier to pick up out of the jar and they're worth the money. They're a little thicker than most so be sure to leave enough head space!

so when I saw these recommended on a couple of customer reviews I ordered them
I have begun making homemade sauerkraut and other fermented vegetables, so when I saw these recommended on a couple of customer reviews I ordered them. I really like them. They are smooth, clear, heavy glass disks that one puts on top of veggies to keep them below the surface of the brine used in the recipe. They fit fairly snugly inside a wide-mouth canning jar; space around them is needed to allow gas bubbles to escape during active fermentation. They float on top and work nicely except when one shreds cabbage fine and then tries to insert them with too much of a vertical angle, they sink instead of float! Other than that one startling outcome that happened when I removed some kraut to taste-test and was putting the disk back in the remainder in the jar, I am very pleased with their performance. Next time I shred too finely, I will leave a leaf intact to put over the cabbage before slipping in the disks and filling to the top with brine. I like the look of them inside the jar of veggies now sitting in my fridge ripening further. They also come in what I would describe as a presentation box, it is so nice. Excellent to store them in to avoid any sort of possible damage, although they are 3/4 inch thick. They have a faintly rippled surface sort of like a calm sea, and with their rounded edges could easily also be used as paperweights.
