I'm the kind of person that likes keeping my older cars running if they're in good shape, so I decided to do some simple maintenance on my old 2002 Ford Focus. When I realized the fuel filter on there was the same factory filter, I decided to change with this filter. I couldn't get the painted end to properly slide into the connector, so when I pulled it out to see what the issue was, I noticed a lot of the paint chipped off in the process. I could see the paint was relatively thick for something that had to be a specific size, so I gently sanded it all off. That made the filter fit like a glove. No leaks, no issues at all; works great and this has even helped me get a much more smooth idle and much faster response time with the throttle.Amazon says this fits the 2002 Focus but the description says this fits 2003 and some newer models. It does indeed fit the 2002 Focus, but you have to remove the paint to get a good secure fit.

I am very impressed with quality vs price. Purchased April 12th, 2024, used April 13th, 2024, mileage: 409,xxx. Today is May 19th, 2025, mileage: 425,566.I am going to replace it on my 2005 f150 4.6L as I am getting lean codes and running rich at idle.

The filter itself was great but I went to install the fuel line clips they were too big and the wrong type! This caused me to look for the right clips luckily Dorman make a clip kit for Ford and GM and it worked perfectly and in stock at Auto zone!
