Zephyr 56136 Dover Dry Rubber Smoke Sponge, 6" Length x 1-3/4" Width x 3" Height (Case of 36)

After a house fire, we purchased these for some smoke/soot remediation. They worked exactly as advertised and we couldn't be more pleased.Some people tend to call these chem sponges, but they are basically just rubber, so no need to worry about dealing with any sort of chemicals. We used them before cleaning the walls with TSP, and after both steps, the smoke smell has all but subsided. We chose to buy these from Amazon after checking with our local carpet cleaning supplier and finding out they were 3x the price.

Great at detecting smoke residue on walls, all pros use these but found something that worked better for me and ended up not using an entire box of these.

These are great if you have fire damage on painted surface. Use these before you wet the surface to remove soot.
