This smoker is made extremely well. The walls are double thick which help maintain the internal temperature when using in cold weather. It has 2 doors so you only have to open the bottom door to check the water level and add wood so you don't open the cooking section and let the heat out of the cooking area. It is the only one I saw that came with door gaskets which give it a tight seal. Its a nice size. I like the wheels on the back, which makes it easy to relocate and move in and out of the garage. The stainless steel racks are easy to clean. And it is natural gas, which is what I was looking for. Once you reach operating temp, it takes very little fuel to maintain it because the compartment is so air tight. And most important, the meat is moist and delicious!

Broil King vertical smoker, natural gas First smoker, first impressions. For a novice with little use of the smoker, it seems great so far. • Assembly takes about 2 hours. Instructions were fine but some illustrations are not clear. Some drawings need to be improved. • With assembly and “burn-off,” plan on about 3 hours before use. • Natural gas connection was easy with quick connect. I just plugged it into my existing quick connect. Lit up right away. • Temperature control. I had a hard time getting the temp below 190f on lowest burner setting, according to the built-in thermometer. I was able to get it up to 400f. Might be able to get it higher with the vents open more. I need to test with other thermometers and update this review later. • Smoked salmon came out great!

The rack holders are adjustable but pop out 90% of the time when you remove the rack from the smoker. So trying to reinstall a rack holder that is hot in a hot smoker is not an easy task. The rack holder tabs should have been designed longer as the inside aluminum walls are not rigid to support. My electronic ignition lighter has never worked from day one. Have had to manually start it. When I unpacked the smoker both rear corners had dents from where a loading strap had been over torqued during transportation.

The smoker arrived within one week. Opened the box made sure all parts were present. Instruction booklet made assembly easy and strait forward. Wait for my outdoor kitchen to be finished them will be smokin' my days away for me and my family and friends.
B**!
