A great bit of seclusion
This is my second bed tent. There was nothing wrong with the other one, but I needed one in two places at the same time while I was moving-- it turned out to be lucky, as I wound up putting my bed on a loft and needed to be able to get into bed at the foot. The fabric is "thick enough" for my purposes-- I also have blackout curtains, and sleep in a mask, etc., but I think if you were really light sensitive and relying solely on this to block out enough light to preserve your sleep in the morning, this wouldn't do it-- though I think I would have to say the same of my previous one. Just something to be aware of.Privacy-wise, once this thing is closed, you are in total visual privacy. Obviously, this isn't going to do anything for the sound, so don't talk about any secret war plans, if that's something you take seriously. On my old one, the side panels unzipped completely, and it was the ends that had small half-moon windows with optional mesh. With this only the head and foot open fully, but they also have the optional mesh (you can mix-and-match). The side panels are only about a third of the length on the sides, and they don't open all that high. You can easily get in and out that way (I'd prefer it, if it were an option for me). I also set up my bed so that those openings are at the head-end, rather than the foot.Given that you can fully unzip the material layer at either end and just leave the screen in place, it's easy to say that ventilation is no problem, but unless you're planning to use this as an actual out-in-the-world tent (and it's made for that, too-- no reason to say no to it), you'd be sacrificing that sense of enclosure that can be the reason you wanted a bed tent in the first place.Unfortunately, and it should be expected, if you have the tent closed up, it can quickly become an uncomfortable place to sleep-- it warms up quickly, and gets real humid. My solution was to buy some 4" ducting and some inline duct fans and pump fresh air in (the sound is just like running a quiet fan at night). I've gone a bit overboard with my system, but really, you just want to pump air in one end and have it go out the other. I added the ability to draw in fresh air, and also to pull air straight from the AC, and to choose between the two depending upon which is colder. You don't need to go to all that trouble, but you will want to get the air inside your tent frequently replaced with the air outside your tent. This tent is a bit more straightforward than my other one (which I couldn't get folded back up properly and is probably becoming a twisted hulk in my car right now), though that would be more of a problem if I intended to take it somewhere and then have to get it home again. It's funny I don't remember perfectly, as it was only three months ago, but the tent arrives in a circular fabric bag. Opening that bag as the tent spring out into its half-moon shape, and then you assemble the three 3-segment poles and slide them down the length. There was definitely some trouble getting them in due to the very tight tolerance in the lengths, and needing to get the end of the pole inside, and seated and zipped up. It was not terrible, though.

Baby Proofing Bed
I use this to baby proof the bed since I co-sleep with my baby. It works! I was worried she would feel anxious the first day being inside but she loved it! She isn’t able to grab things from the nightstand and she crawls around the bed freely. She sometimes slides between the netting and the bed but it stretches down so she’s able to move and get up herself. The top cover blocks the direct light from the ceiling lamp while letting a good amount of light and breeze in. It doesn’t get stuffy as I thought it would when I first set it up. I wish I knew about this last summer!

Great bed tent
My autistic child likes to have a comfortable space to be in and this bed tent is perfect. It’s spacious but cozy, blacks out light, can be fully open, enclosed in just mesh, or fully zipped up. It’s easy to use with any full size mattress and bed frame of your choice.

Well Thought Out Design, Easy Assembly
I got the twin as a brooder for my growing ducklings. It came packaged well inside its carrying/storage case. It's very well made, stitching is nice and tight, and the ducklings are super happy. I like how the top and bottom are solid material and the rest is mesh for great circulation. I ended up putting a piece of OSB on top of a table (cut to the size of the tent), then pieced together some puzzle matting on top of that for padding and finally the tent. The tent literally took minutes to assemble; all that is needed is to insert the poles. I LOVE how the assembly instructions are sewn into the storage case! Nice move! It looks fantastic. Small enough to not take up an entire room and big enough to let the growing duckling stretch their little legs with a sprint. Am extremely pleased so far.

Two year old kept escaping!
This is such a cool product! It is well made and the zippers are good quality. A normal twin bed fit in it, but we did notice a gap (3” or so) along the middle by the middle arch. Not sure if ours was defective this way or if it’s always that way, but we did have a toddler slip her legs off the mattress while sleeping into the side…. We moved her back onto the mattress and hoped she would learn how to stay on the mattress. Our biggest challenge though was all the zippers are two sided so there is full inside access to opening the zippers. Our little gal loves zippers and 4 zippers is too much to figure out own to keep her in the bed without unzipping and coming out whenever she pleased (by night two she had it figured out!) so we’re returning. Wanted to love and keep this but may try again once she’s older. She’s 2 currently for reference.
