Great Heater
Excellent heater and very sturdy. I am using this heater in a 10ft x 10ft room . I use two bars (800 watt) for ten minutes then only need to use one bar (400 watt) for the the rest of the time I need to use it. I pay just under 54pence per KW hour that equals 10p an hour using one bar which is extremely good value for money. This heater also has a safety cut out switch so this helps with peace of mind whilst leaving it on for long periods of time. It also has tip/ tilt mechanism which also cuts it out if this happens. All in all a fantastic and cheaper way of keeping your room noice and warm, I haven’t had to use all three bars at all it works brilliantly. Regards, Derrick.

Good heaters - trick to replacing tubes though
I had a two year old Slim Belaco and the no1 n (centre) tube blew. I bought this identical one as it came with 3 free tubes (sneaky!) BUT there is little info out there yet on how to do the replacing of this heater's defunct tubes... I did check youtube, everyone frustrated by how hard it is to disconnect blown tubes. HOW I DID IT - unplug from mains!!!!! 1. remove c16 back screws (from back casing plate, not handle) Gently prize off respecting wires to both sides of unit to access front 2. Remove innnner protective mesh grid from unit (not the outer mesh cover grid; there's a 2nd one on the unit only gettble at once screws removeds as 1) by bending back the grid's retaining small front corner latches. All good so far. BUT as others found: 3 I could not then remove the blown non-functioning tube - it fits through each side of the unit and then its connectors (one each side of tube) fit into the unit's respective two wired sleeves. Google says try holding back wire sleeve with pliers and pull or use a tiny flat head screwdriver to free tube connecting plate. Neither worked for me as I am not strong. 4 So !!!!wearing gloves!!! I gently broke off the glass tube and removed it - still leaving its ceramic end caps connected. 5 Now I could prize up each of the two unit side's latches and swivel out the old tube's connection ends (ceramic white) each side. This let me better attack their slide connection to their wired sleeves. In the end as the glass was no longer present, I could now better use the tiny flat head screw driver (to slide in down the wired sleeve to hold down the retaining button that kept the tube's plate prong fitted in place - you'll see the hole when you look at the replacement tube's plates, each is slightly bigger than a pin head but it's these tiny things that are causing the removal problem). 6 Once the old tube's ends are pulled out with the help of the tiny screwdriver, the rest is easy (ish) the new tube can be slide and slotted in place, the unit's side latches put back down and so on... just reconnect everything up safely. 7 Replace the screws and test. Took me about 30 minutes. But as said: a highly recommended heater the best of them all - I've now three and they do save money. Silent and give out a nice light too. I have them on remote plugs to switch on and off when in bed, out of rooms. Great thing about them is the handle which makes them easy to move and carry. Also neat small design. :-)

Very unsafe, defective, poor build quality
Absolutely avoid these if you value your safety. Very low quality plastic. I’ve seen better build quality in kids toys from bargain shops. We ordered 2. One didn’t work at all, the other worked (very hot I agree) but then started to make electrical sparking noises and flashing on and off. Clearly defective. Extremely unstable as the plastic is so cheap it’s flimsy, plastic casings not joined properly and rusty screws. I asked the Amazon Returns team to investigate these as potential safety issue. Return started.

I love this heater.
I love this heater. It arrived the next day, earlier than the expected delivery date, and in good condition. It works perfectly and offers two benefits: warmth and light. I bought it because I wanted a quiet heater at an eco-friendly price, and it is as quiet as I expected while operating. Thank you so much 😃

Tube not working after 5 weeks
Great heater but tube only lasted 5 weeks, which is very disappointing. 3 smfree tubes supplied, but no instructions provided.

A top grade heater at a low cost.
This is my second Belaco 1200W heater. The previous one lasted me 3 years without having to change any of the bars. I use it every day in the winter it saves on my heating bill. They are inexpensive and cheap to run but still efficient.
