Only for Maple Syrup Lovers
I love root beer and AW is the best I’ve ever had, but it’s hard to find so I thought I’d try a more readily available one. I’ll just wait from now on. I expected it to have the same kind of flavour profile as AW, with some change to sweetness or whatever, a different take on a classic in other words. This however does not taste like AW at all. For some, that might be a good thing, for me it was not. The only thing I could taste was maple syrup. It was like someone handed me a can of watered down maple syrup and, while the first sip was interesting, the flavour soon became overpowering with a horrible aftertaste. Maple syrup but on the chemically side. If you love maple syrup you might like this. If you want a root beer that’s like AW root beer you will not like this. I tried 3 cans, only managed to finish one and, unfortunately the rest are going down the sink. If you do want to try it, the fizz is just enough to give you that soda feel, but not too overpowering you couldn’t chug it if you wanted. You get 24 cans which for the price I paid works out at about 99p or so a can which is a very decent price. The cans are easy to open though one can the ring pull came off after partially opening the tab but it was extremely easy to just push the tab in with my finger. I hated this but, like I say, if you like and want a maple syrup soda, give this a shot because I doubt there’s a stronger one out there

Does the job for root beer fans.
I'm a fan of root beer and it's hard to come by in the UK. This does taste like a diet rootbeer but that's fine for me, Its low in sugar and has a nice maple after taste. It hits the root beer craving and gives a nice taste that's unique. Lovely can design. Just wish it was cheaper £15 for a pack would be fairer.

Tastes more of maple syrup than root beer but tastes darn good
Having drank multiple varieties of root beer in the past both in the UK and the USA I was getting withdrawal symptoms with the pandemic. My local shop couldn't get it in stock and I didn't want to pay ridiculous postage prices for a few cans, they even stopped making the syrup for my sodastream. I caved and figured I should bulk buy some from Amazon... This doesn't taste of root beer like Dr pepper doesn't taste of coke. They are similar products but even though this had a rootbeer flavour hidden inside it tastes more of a maple syrup drink but that doesn't make it bad infact we will definatley be re buying but if you expected Dr Pepper and got Coke it would be a little disappointing. I would definatley recommend trying this drink if you like root beer and want to try something different as it's very good but if you want root beer and nothing but root beer I'd go with something else

Uses a frothing agent
In the ingredients to this you will see it includes a "frothing agent", and that I suppose is why this has a persistent head on it like beer so it looks good instead of the head disipating quickly like other root beers... BUT... This also means as you drink it down your throat it starts to make even more FROTH in your oesophagus that froths back up the oesophagus and into your throat causing a very unpleasant feeling... It could be that I got a batch where somone made the mistake of adding too much "frothing agent" when they were making it and since I only have this one batch to judge I can't say all other batches are the same but this batch makes me feel like vomiting with the amount of "frothy reflux" (As opposed to acid reflux) of the root beer as I drink it and that is not good... No other root beer I have tried has ever contained a "Frothing Agent" before and does not froth up in my oesophagus and throat filling both with a froth that you have to throw up... It is a pity because the Maple Syrup really adds a distinct and pleasant flavour but this excessive frothing that even froths as you drink it ruins the whole experience for me...

Terrible!
I bought this as I couldn’t get my usual root beer. Frankly, it is appalling. It has a terrible smell, a terrible taste and terrible aftertaste. I couldn’t even manage the can and the rest have gone into the bin. This was an expensive mistake and I wouldn’t recommend.

Disappointing - soda water with syrup
I love root beer and I regularly buy the A&W version when I can (it's just a pity it's quite expensive to buy in the UK). I used to buy the 'full sugar' version of this, before Soda Folk replaced it with this reduced version. The original tasted great, although not quite on par with A&W. However, this new version is much worse. I'd describe its taste as soda water with a touch of maple-flavoured syrup, now akin to Soda Folk's reduced sugar Cream Soda, which has also been ruined by what I can only assume is the result of the sugar tax. If you're unfamiliar with Root Beer and haven't ever tasted the classic American A&W, you might find this enjoyable. But for OG Root Beer fans, I can't recommend this in good conscience.
