ASICS Men's Cael V4.0 Wrestling Shoe

I bought these shoes for weight lifting and achieves the required traction and leverage. I'm not sure if it's a common feature of all wrestling shoes but I felt that the heel was slightly lower than the ball of the foot. I've had several boxing shoes in the past which are similar and those always felt level. I may buy some cushioning for the heels but otherwise okay. Most people commented that you should buy 1 size larger than normal, and they were right. The shoes are fairly snug width-wise but the length is ok.Update:Have been wearing the same pair for two years now. They are still in great shape even though I wear them at least three times a week at the gym.

Best shoes on the market. Lasted me about 3 years if I remember correctly.

Other reviewers warned about tight fit and suggested a full size larger. In the beginning, I could not wear these comfortably with socks. after about a week, they stretched enough for me to wear with socks. Fit is snug but I am wearing them in my home to support my twice sprained ankle. They work absolutely great for that purpose and have contributes to healing.

I train in Krav Maga and was looking for a mat shoe- this one happens to match my training uniform which was nice. I had never worn a "wrestling shoe" prior to this. The other reviews I had read for these shoes seemed to indicate that the shoe would wear small and to order at least a half a size bigger than you normally wear. I wear between a 12 and 13 depending on the shoe so I ordered a 12.5. My first impression was that the shoes were very nice in appearance (though I am not crazy about the tongue of the shoe, it feels like it should be sewed completely flush instead of the flap like set up). Upon putting the shoes on they felt very narrow and I do not have a particularly wide foot. The fit was snug to say the least and at the beginning of the workout I was thinking that they were going to be sent back. Towards the end of my session (about 1.5 hours) the shoes felt like they had been broken in a bit and were somewhat more comfortable. Last night I wore them for the second time and they were decent, not great. I do not want to go through the hassle of sending them back so I am keeping them. *** I have never worn this type of shoe before so the way it feels is foreign to me, maybe they are supposed to be a bit narrow etc., I don't know*** They grip the mat very well and a fairly light on the feet. Overall, they are decent, not great. I was having a hard time finding them in the store due to the time of year, so I opted to order from Amazon. I am always happy with the Amazon experience, but as far as a purchase like this, trying them on first in the store is the way to go and then shop for the best deal, not to buy sight unseen.

They fit well and gave excellent support to my feet. I have wide feet and my previous wrestling shoes had more stretchy mesh in the front of myfoot. The mesh would allow my foot to roll a little giving me a sharp pain. These shoes have more support on the sides, so I'm very pleased and recommend these shoes.

I ordered these shoes to replace my Otomix pair for the gym. I wear a size 9.5 and these are really tight in both width and length. I would advise anyone buying them to order a size and a half to a full size larger. I can wear them somewhat comfortably if I don't wear socks.Other than that they area rally cool in the gym.

Seem to be working out great

This is a great shoe. It is lite weight & flexible. The traction is good. My sons wrestle year round so we have to replace their shoes every year or so. these are the most reliable safest choice. If you are a serious wrestler, this shoe will serve you well.
