Power Read the Bible: A Companion Guide for Your 60-Day Journey

I was excited seeing this as a Bible study plan on Youversion. The overachiever in me could not resist the challenge. I jumped into it prepared to read familiar passages but finally able to say that I read the whole Bible. What I found was wonderful familiar stories and small lesser familiar parts of the Bible that made my already vivid imagination take flight. I didn't think that I would laugh...but when I read Nehemiah 13 for the first time I could see some pastor and their congregation. It gave me endless days of laughter. Through my reading of the scriptures, I laughed, cried, and saw the unerring plan that God put in motion to save us. I'm more grateful that I ever before for this 66 book love-letter written for me.

I was in the original “60 Day Bible Read” class that the author led. I was skeptical about being able to read the Bible in 60 days and what one could benefit from a power read, but I will admit I was happily wrong on both accounts.People can read the Bible in 60 days and I witnessed several do it!On top of that, reading the Bible in 60 days connects you back to the heart of the whole revelation of God and God’s heart in His revelation. I found this to be a powerful and refreshing experience. I did not even realize until the 60 day read how much I had been missing the whole forest for the trees.I would recommend the 60 day Bible read to all and this book to help them along the journey. Better yet, get multiple copies and convince others to join you. It is a great experience for a group to go through together.

This companion guide has been a valuable resource for my family’s Bible reads. The author’s initial chapters focus on “power reading” and why there is value in reading the Word from a skyscraper level. Chapter 7 and onward provide daily insights and questions to reflect and meditate on as you begin reading through the Bible.Mr. Anderson’s book has helped instill a Biblically literate environment in our home. Reading the Bible in 60 days has helped us see the flow of scripture as one continuous story. Not a story written “New” and “Old”, but one alive, powerful and relevant throughout time and cultures.Reading God’s Word can be a daunting task. This book is a helpful resource to assist in that task. I encourage you, whether your a knowledge seeker, new believer or a veteran of the faith, to purchase this book and begin your journey through the Word.

I love this book. It help you go through the Bible at a faster pace. It’s easy to read and all the info on each chapter is interesting and provides almost a commentary. If you want to read bible within 3 month this is a Must Have.

Reading through the Bible in 60 days seems daunting and nearly impossible with the busy lives we all lead. I tried it anyways, and it literally changed my perspective of God and his Word. I gained so much fresh insight and understanding from reading the entire Bible from beginning to end as “one story.” As someone who believes that God still speaks to each of us through His written Word, I highly encourage every believer and truth-seeker to read it from start to finish in a short amount of time to experience it’s cohesive, eternal truths. Jeff Anderson’s 60-day plan is very relevant, insightful, and user-friendly, and I plan to follow it again and again to “power read” through the Bible.

The book as an aid to reading through the bible is fine. But I found 60 days to read the complete bible is not feasible; too many chapters, much less verses, to get through each day. So the book is fine to a point, but the full task of completing the bible in 60 days is not my cup of tea.
