Ito En never disappoints.
I am a Japanese American. I’ve been drinking Ito En barley tea since I was a toddler and still drink it every single day. It has always tasted great, has cooling effects, fights fatigue, improves gut health, and has no caffeine or any other stimulating substances, so you can substitute drinking water to this 100%. In response to microplastics and environmental concerns, they have switched to using biodegradable tea bags, according to their official Japanese website. Ito En is trusted by Japan. When I moved to the US in 2010, I could only dream of getting this tea online. What a convenient time to be alive. Making this is so easy, you just need to drop 2 bags in a typical 2L bottle and keep it in a fridge for 3 hours. No boiling is needed. I usually keep 2 bottles of 2L in my fridge, so if 1 of them runs out, I switch to the other 2L bottle. Why drink water if you can drink this?

Convenient and tasty
Always consistent with the quality. Very convenient using these tea bags, instead of actually using dried barley. Whether hot or cold, tastes amazing. Something to keep in mind though is that these tea bags are made for bigger portions. I like to drink my barley tea cold so I steep it in a 50 oz/ 1500 mL pitcher.

Big Flavor!
These are such good tea bags, one bag can make a whole pitcher! Hot or cold is great because in the summer I don't want to run my stove as much so I can full a pitcher and throw a bag in and in an hour have a refreshing cold beverage. This is a great price for these and can confirm they are imported from Japan and not made for western markets.

Love it!
I love mugicha! Brings back wonderful memories from my two years living in Japan. Love to drink this in the summer (cold) and winter (heated). I'm sure the barley taste isn't for anyone, but I prefer the barley taste to the dirt flavors of other herbal teas! :)
