Just finished this book and highly recommend it. It is very well written
Just finished this book and highly recommend it. It is very well written, and while long, is a good read thanks to great highlighting and chapter break down. I think the author makes solid arguments on major trends, many already in progress. Given the author's emphasis on how these affect education I would highly recommend this book to educators and business students alike. It always helps when an author dives deep into many things you see and know already so you can relate to them only with more information and depth of research. The book is also ideal for group study projects as it contains many suggestions within the chapters. I read a lot of business and future trends books and this is one of the best.

This is a wonderful book for those going into the teaching profession
This is a wonderful book for those going into the teaching profession. It gives the students a clear picture of what the overarching questions might be and how they impact their work lives. I especially like the chapter on the issue of social justice becoming a focus for all the subjects. In mathematics the issue of financial literacy and the importance of access to information propel the students into a new understanding of how information is used in society. These questions promote critical thinking in the student in regard to the information he/she has in his/her life as well as how it will be used to transform the society in which they live!

Just my opinion
This book was an informative book for anyone who is concerned with the future of our world and the role governments, organizations, institutions of learning, and community leaders play in it. As an educator responsible for preparing students for the future it is my responsibility to learn as much as I can about what the future hold for students of today. The book presented information in a formate that was easy to follow, and it provided excellent resource on implementation of the concepts presented. The book was a little long and it was necessary to put it down for a while and return to it at a later date. It was a lot of information to take in at one time. This book should be read by leaders businesses, government and education. The book received 4 stars out of 5 because it was so long. My suggestion is for the reader to read chapters as it relates to your current organization or situation. Each chapter stands alone and can be used independently of each other. I loved the wealth of information presented in this book. Each chapter had a section for educators to see the direct impact the trend had on the future of education.

Compelling Reasoning
“In Twenty-One Trends, this author-futurist extends his previous body of work into a compelling reason for optimism in the 21st century. Marx weaves a strong thread through his 21 trends that are nested in his eight spheres of influence: education with lifelong learning is key. This book is a must read for anyone who is planning to succeed in the 21st century.”

Curriculum for the Future
What an amazing and clear planning guide for leaders in education to use as we plan to prepare students for an ever-changing world. The 21 Trends could be our textbook for ensuring our young people grasp the rapid and profound changes that will impact their lives. We truly need to broaden our curriculum for students so they become global and ethical citizens.

Worth Reading
Worth reading; however, in an apparent attempt to write conversationally, the message is too often burdened with clichés. I am reminded of similar works of the early 1970s; some of the predictions seem remarkably similar. Maybe that's a simple reflection of continual change, or maybe things haven't changed as much as predicted 45 years ago.

Great Book, Poor Binding Quality
The information in the book was great. I thought the information was very helpful. The reason for my one star review was after reading the book once the binding started falling apart. I have chapters that are falling out of the book. It is absolutely ridiculous.
