Almost didn't get it... Glad I did
This thing works! The whole point of this clamp is to use in a pocket hole to join boards together. I have read many of the reviews on Amazon about this clamp. I agree with some of the points, but others I do not. First off, this is a five star tool. This is why...1. No other clamp will instantly join a pocketed board to another like this. Yes, you can use several box or bar clamps and fumble around with them, or you can snap this on.2. You do not "need" two. Would it help, and is it worth it to have more, yes. But one is fine. You just need to realize your limits using one. Namely, you must clamp and then systematically set a screw. Then unclamp and reclamp, and set another screw. If you do this, you won't have the problems of creep or misalignment as one stated. How do I know, well, I just built a huge box cabinet for a stove, microwave and two drawers. Floor to ceiling using red oak plywood, red oak boards, sand ply, and particle board. The whole thing is full of pocket screws. They are everywhere! I had a helper who was a cabinet guy (old school) and he saw my clamp and said "there is no way that will work". I bought the clamp to use it, so I replied, well we are gonna at least try it. He was amazed. It was a sinch to clamp and screw, remove, align, clamp and screw. The key was staying next to the clamp. Move too far away, and yes you will have issues.3. The tool is well made. Solid casting and strong. I have dropped mine on accident a few times and it gets beat in my bag, but it looks great.4. The rubber on the handle! Yes... Why no one mentions this I don't know. This is the genius of this tool! You wouldn't think that the coating was important, but it serves 3 purposes. The first is that it protects the tool and the wood. The second is that it helps aid in holding the tool securely. The third thing is what I love most. It protects your hand/fingers and aids in removal. I can't even tell you how many times a clamp like this has pinched me while removing. The rubber eliminates that altogether.5. The special side fits tight in the pocket and that perfectly aligns the other side to clamp. No guessing. Just insert, and double check the boards and clamp. It is a specialty tool yes... Would it be nice if it were cheaper... Yes. But is it worth buying... Yes. Even if you build one item with a few pocket screws, I feel it is worth having. I have even used it to clamp wood down and "press" in a pinch.Good job Kreg on this one. I would like to see it in a 2 pack for a discount though...

Much better and easier that I expected.
I describe myself as a "meatball" carpenter. After retiring, I began to buy antique sea captains' houses or old farm houses to rebuild and repurpose. Through that time, I also built a new house for myself, using my own labor to complete the project once the major framing and enclosing was done. To begin with, I was armed only with my seventh grade shop skills. By watching professionals, and reading a lot in the library and on line, I gradually taught myself how to run wiring and complete the plumbing needed to make my houses work. Now, I have begun another project as this old farm house and my wife really need a new kitchen, and the construction of cabinetry will fall totally onto my shoulders. I am not in any way a "finish" carpenter, nor do I have a really good shop to set up my accumulation of carpentry tools, using the garage when I can and the back yard when the problematical weather in Maine allows. For the cabinets and face frames for this project I decided to use pocket hole joinery and plywood. The cabinets have been designed by my wife who knows precisely what she wants to have in this purely functional kitchen. These Kreg Right Angle clamps appeared to me to be perfect for alligning and clamping the various pieces of plywood and pine face frame stock together for assembly. I ended up buying two, although I was a bit put off by the price, especially since I have quite a lot of bar clamps to begin with. I should have saved myself the worry. These clamps make alignment of pieces a snap, and then driving the screws into the pockets I have made, makes assembly of the cabinet components a fast and remarkably precise process.I know I can complete this project quickly and easily and I think it will surprise me at how good it will come together. Better still, I think my wife will be pleased. I highly recommend these clamps for pockethole joinery projects and suggest especially to anyone never having done this before, to get some and give it them a whirl!

A handy addition to the Kreg pocket hole system
I have had a Kreg pocket hole jig kit for several years. Pocket hole construction is a quick and easy way to create framework, cabinets, and other projects requiring wood joinery. While the kit itself contains all of the necessary items to perform pocket hole joinery, the Kreg right angle clamp is a handy accessory. It is a bit like having a third hand. The clamp is well made, all metal with the exception of the soft plastic covers on the handgrips. One clamp jaw is a rounded projection which fits into a pocket hole. The second jaw has a flat plate allowing for forcible clamping against an opposing surface. When the jaws are tightened, they secure the pieces to be joined while the screw in an adjoining pocket hole is tightened in place. (The pocket hole jig produces two holes in close proximity.) A few reviewers have mentioned that, for some projects a second clamp would make it easier to securely clamp the material while screwing pieces together, but a single clamp will do the job if one takes time to align the pieces properly and clamp securely. If also using glue to attach the pieces, as another reviewer mentioned, naturally the joint surfaces will be slippery, but proper clamping and a bit of care usually takes care of the problem. If not, as other reviewers suggested, using a simple backstop or corner jig to butt the joint against could keep the piece being attached from slipping. But if one is adamant about the need for two clamps, a second should be purchased. The odds are that it would be a lifetime investment for most people. That makes the price reasonable. Two cautions: one, using excessive force with the clamp could cause some splintering of the pocket hole edges, and two, it is advisable to cover the flat clamp plate (duct tape?) to avoid marring the wood if too much pressure is used. All things considered, I recommend this tool as a handy addition to ones workshop

Works surprisingly well and can also be used as a regular clamp like to clamp a piece of wood to a table
If you use the Kreg pocket hole jig and are making boxes or joining at right angles, you need this clamp. Works surprisingly well and can also be used as a regular clamp like to clamp a piece of wood to a table. I also have Kreg's other angle clamp and the two of these work very well singly or together. The other one is more versatile in that it can be used for any right angle and you don't need a pocket hole to stick it into but if you're doing pocket holes, this one holds in places, like the center of a piece, that the other one doesn't.

A niche clamp, even as far as pocket hole clamping goes, but it works great
It's definitely a unique clamp and you *can* rig up a jig to work around this -- having this will save you some time when you just need it to work. If you plan on doing lots of pocket holes, you'll benefit from one of these although I might suggest either getting two of these or exploring the 90-degree corner clamp model.

Fast and easy to use clamp for pocket holes.
If you need a quick clamping of two boards with pocket holes this is a must have, high quality built and quick clamping and release action.Only weakness I see is maybe the rubber grips, they don't look too durable.

Kreg clamp a winner
A great time saver for better quality pieces. But, if the arms could be adjusted for different lengths, I wouldn't need multiple clamps. Come on Kreg, you can do it.Amazon free shipping makes it a must have and cheaper than the big box stores.

Works as described.
It took me a little while to get the pressure just right and getting it positioned correctly in the pocket hole before securing. Once that part was over then the product worked great. As always, fast shipping by Amazon.
