Worth a shot for classic blues tone!
I replaced a set of Texas Specials with a set of carefully selected Dimarzio p/ups. I'm using this True Velvet in the middle section. I RARELY ever used middle p/u until I installed this guy. I put a dimarzio Area 58 in the neck and an Area 61 in the bridge. Those guys are AWESOME as well. What I like about this True Velvet is it is just a schooch louder/brighter than the other two. To me it has a real clean, natural sound to it. Great harmonics, and picks up every style of picking very well. Responds well. Another bonus is cost. $58!? Bargain!!!! Made my number two guitar into my number one guitar. I LOVE the way it sounds now! I play pretty much just blues, and this set gives me the blues tone I have been looking for for the last 3 years. I have a set of Lace Sensors in my other guitar, which I really like as well, a Gold in the middle, and this one I like better as it sounds more natural. The Lace pickups I have, Blue and Gold, are really really good, only drawback for me is they're TOO responsive if that makes sense. They pick up TOO much, like my fingers simply sliding from spot to spot. A little too much detail for me. These guys are great. This was my first time using Dimarzio. I've also had much success with Seymour Duncan and the Lace ones. The Fender Texas Specials, NOT impressed with. Happy with this set up for blues!

Great single cool
Using this in the middle of an old Ibanez 540 s ltd. It sounds fantastic by itself or split with the neck and bridge humbuckers. Very clear and bell like but not super trebly and strident.

Worked surprisingly well
Was ready to return it because it was rwrp middle. Needed a neck not a middle. Just out of curiosity I installed it in an hss strat. No hum, no thinnes, no phase problems. Keeping it.

These are true velvet
Just like the name says true velvet. They sound great. I used these in my chibanez jem.
