I love the concept and the book over all
For me I started on the imprint app. It was this easy fast way to go threw a book to learn. Yet, I was struck by this book as it could really help me focus and I needed to take back what little control I was lacking so that I could be more motovated to do the things I had dreamed. This book has been such an amazing help with that from the easy to read way it is written to the workbook that you can download after buying the book so that you can have that extra help to really put the principles in the book to work for you.

From Distraction to Traction: A Guide to Focused Living
"Indistractable" by Nir Eyal stands out as a pragmatic and insightful guide to reclaiming our focus in an age teeming with distractions. Eyal introduces the concept of "traction" — deliberate actions that draw us closer to our life goals — as the antidote to mindless scrolling and the endless ping of notifications. His advice ranges from the practical (send fewer emails to receive fewer) to the philosophical, urging a reevaluation of how we interact with technology so that it serves us, not the other way around. The book's strength lies in its mix of actionable strategies and thought-provoking insights, making it a beacon for anyone seeking to navigate today's digital landscape with intention. However, Eyal doesn't shy away from the challenges that come with adopting a more focused lifestyle. He candidly addresses the potential for isolation in our hyper-connected world, reminding us that "the cost of being able to connect with anyone in the world is that we might not be fully present with the person physically next to us." This balance between connectivity and meaningful presence underscores much of Eyal's guidance."Indistractable" does more than offer tips for productivity; it delves into the psychology of distraction, providing a roadmap for more fulfilling personal and professional lives. Through a blend of personal anecdotes, research-backed insights, and practical advice, Eyal equips readers with the tools to break free from distraction's grasp. This book is a compelling read for anyone looking to make intentional choices in an increasingly distracting world, earning it a solid 7 out of 10 rating.

Everyone needs to read this book
This book is not another self-help book filled with fluff. The chapters are brief and easy-to-understand with actionable advice and tips that you can apply right away. I already feel much more organized and in better control of my time.

Common sense and built in distracting gimmick
This book is a bunch of tips and "hacks" (as the author describes them). I had already done most of the tips he provides on my own before reading the book. A lot of these tips are common sense like blocking out time for activity on a calendar or deleting distracting apps. What the book does not do is provide a game plan on how to solidify these tips and habits. Something is missing. I have already done most of these but have slid back into randomness. The book doesn't help with that. To be honest, I am still reading the book, but so far, I'm pretty frustrated by the lack of substantive advice that would help me stay discipline. Tips and tricks are not enough, especially if they are common sense. I do reserve the right to come back and up rate the book, but I don't think that will come to pass. The last comment I will make is that the kindle version of this book is FILLED with hyperlinks to both the appendices and pop outs to a web page. I read the kindle version on an iPad, which is TOUCH BASED. Does this idiot realize how distracting it is to keep popping out of kindle or into the appendices every so often because I accidentally touched a link? It's ironic a book about getting to indistractable had built in the most distracting gimmick in the e-book. Literally, every page has like 10-20 hyperlinks, and the hyperlinks are usually long, stretching dozens of words. It's almost impossible not to accidentally touch a hyperlink. What happens when it pops you to the appendices? There is no way to go back unless you remember the specific location you were on. This frustrated me so much, I had to get on and write this review.UPDATE: Finished the book. I have thought about lowering the rank for this book but didn't just in case there are people who can't figure out the common sense suggestions provided by the book. This book really will not teach you anything new. The fact that you took the initiative to fix your distraction problem and bought this book as a step will be a bigger factor in you fixing the problem rather than the contents of this book. Save your money. Just google the topic on the internet. The advices provided are really common sense and most people have heard or try them.

How to avoid the 'dings, pings, and rings' in your life to take back your mind!
An interesting and easy-to-read book highlighting how easily the human mind is distracted, and more importantly the methods that you can employ to avoid this distraction. Nir showcases how technology is designed with your psychology in mind in order to attract your attention and kidnap your thinking.I really liked how Nir doesn't blame the technology (maybe the designers of said technology a bit LOL) but rather embraces the good that technology offers us while using it to help fight back against the never-ending "dings, pings, and rings".I suggest that you consider sharing this book with your children after you read it so that they understand how tech has been designed to capture their attention and then arm them with the means to help protect themselves.

Brilliant Refresher to the importance of being present
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and found it a great refresher to the importance and power of being present, and channeling your focus on the task at hand. The author covers of aspects of home, personal and work life so it’s not just a one sided affair throughout. The book is broken up into short easy to digest chapters and is a very easy read. Will be revisiting this book again shortly for sure!

A novel perspective to a very ubiquitous yet under-recognised problem.
This book provides a novel and quite interesting ways of dealing with distraction in our day to day lives. I was feeling this pressure of distraction while acquiring a new skill within a really short span of time and my struggles with distraction really dampened my spirits. So I turned to this book to see if it can help me improve my output. The four key take-aways - Master your internal trigger by surfing the urge and 10 min rule, Remove external triggers and replace them with things you want to do, PIE (Price, Individuality and Effort) pacts to gain traction and lastly Timeboxing the time even for distraction. I will not say I have become completely indistractable but I have embarked on a journey with the help of this book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is on a journey to work upon him/ herself to become better version as each day passes.
