Thanos: The Infinity Relativity

Battle with Annihilus goes terribly wrong
Infinity Relativity starts with several different stories that will all be tied together. First, Annihilus has plans to conquer the universe again. Second, the Guardians of the Galaxy are looking for their lost member Gamora who in turn is looking for Adam Warlock. Adam Warlock is still alive after his latest self-destruction, and has come back with astonishing powers. Fourth, Thanos is warned by a previous incarnation of himself when he controlled the Infinity Gauntlet that the universe is threatened once more and he must find Warlock. All these stories come together in a battle with Annihilus which goes terribly wrong. The story was written by Jim Starlin who always provides a good product.

More action, in this sequel
One of my favorite things about Starlin's Thanos, are his private ruminations. Sometimes they are shared. They might be philosophical or personal, but they are always interesting, and the content persists when recalling the story later. This one has fewer such reflections, it's more action-oriented. But it does keep you absorbed, and wanting more. And there's still a mystery, as to what our hero (Don't hand me that 'anti-hero' nonsense) has up his sleeve, and how much it will cost him. That mystery at the end is the only disappointment. It's not that a good cliffhanger is a bad thing; but rather, there isn't any notification (as of 06/08/2015) of when the Finale will be delivered. Knowing that a resolution with a time stamp is forthcoming, gives us a sort of a virtual IOU closure; but we weren't granted that. Also, the compromise with Marvel regarding the use of Warlock, makes me much more p#ssed at Marvel, than Starlin. This Warlock is interesting enough, and the relationship with the Titan has elements of both friendship & potential foe (as with our 'normal' Warlock). But I would prefer to be cheering for the one we know.Keep it coming, Jim. If Whedon starts going stir-crazy with domestic life, you've got my vote for a joint project, with Marvel staying out of it, this time.

Awesome Work of Art by Jim Starlin and Marvel Comics
I have ALWAYS been impressed by great art in comic books and yet once more Jim Starlin delivers with absolutely gorgeous art work. His pencils remind me of his work from the 1970s and 1980s in how cutting edge and beautiful they were. The story captures the science fiction / outer space / other wolds feel that the original Guardians of the Galaxy & Avengers stories encompassed. This book follows Adam Warlock as he discovers a plot by Thanos and an anomaly in the Time/Space continuum. The despot Annihilus is plotting to perpetuate some more foul-funkery and it's up to tGotG & Him to stop it. If you are a true comic fan, then you will get this book!! I wish I could meet him and shake his hand and give him a heart felt Thank You from the bottom of my heart to him for his AMAZING work in comics.

Starlin continues impressing with his new Thanos stories
Jim Starlin's second volume in his new series of Thanos books reads something like "The Empire Strikes Back" of his series. It picks up where The Infinity Revelation left off, but sets up a much larger epic tangentially related to Starlin's Thanos / Hulk series. The story also serves as something of a sequel to the classic Annihilation crossover as Thanos, a far more powerful Adam Warlock and the Guardians of the Galaxy all must deal with the threat of Annihilus.Like any Starling comic, there's tons more going on than it first seems, and the story opens up for a huge next book in the series.

Top-Tier Starlin
It's great to see Jim Starlin returning to the characters he does best, and finding new stories to tell. Mixing science fiction with metaphysics, Starlin never fails to entertain, and frequently astonishes. This latest set of Thanos/Warlock stories represents yet another milestone for the king of cosmic comics.

Another great installment by Jim Starlin
Another great installment by Jim Starlin. Adam Warlock plays a central role in the Original Graphic Novel. Starlin does a good job of portraying the Guardians of the Galaxy and even highlights some Pip the Troll as well.

Starlin IS Thanos
They shouldn't allow anyone else to write Thanos. Starlin does more of his stellar work in this volume. If you're a fan of any of his work, you will enjoy this as well.

Thanos: The Infinity Relativity
