I liked the response if the iTouchless trash can. I don’t have to do anything except move my had over the top and it opens and then closes in a few seconds. This is great when your hands are full or dirty. It’s tall and is great in my laundry room. My dogs can’t get to the top of it

This is by far the best hands free garbage can I have found and at an excellent value for the cost. I have continuously ordered this exact item approximately every 3 years (not due to functionality but the motor will start to slow down as food and gunk will eventually get trapped) for the past 12 years.

This is the second of this particular brand trash can I've purchased. The first was several years ago and was the square model, which is also shorter than this one. I liked the idea of the taller can, but didn't realize that would also create a flaw, for lack of a better word.First, the improvements. The older model used 4 C cell batteries, compared to the AA used by the newer. The motor is not only more efficient, but faster. Motion detection is the same as the original. I do like the taller can design for ease of use, but it does come with a drawback. The filter is the same size and seems to do the same job on odor elimination.In both the round and square versions, the trashcan has an inner ring you can loop your trash bag around to help hold in place. On the square version, it seems the corners provided a little extra grip. In the many years I've had it, I can not think of a single time I've shoved the garbage down to compact it a little bit where the ring let go of the bag. Plus, being shorter, the bottom of a standard 13 gallon trash back rests on the bottom of the can, so it was providing the solid surface to compact against. With the taller circular model, I've had multiple cases where I was pushing the garbage down a bit and either the bag slipped off the ring, or the entire ring itself slid and dropped into the can. It can be rather frustrating, and I'm considering trying to find a support I can put in the bottom so that the bottom of the bag rests on it.That said, I still do like the round design. I think it looks a little nicer overall, and as a tall guy, I really do like the taller can overall. I just have to figure out a way around the drawback it creates.

Love how tall this trash can is. I don't feel like I have to bend over to activate the lid. We had a different touchless can before this one where we couldn't open the dishwasher without hitting it. This one allows us to open the dishwasher without any issues! I do worry how well the trash bags will hold up as there is extra space under the bag, but it seems to be working so far.

Dislikes: I believe this device uses plastic gearing, they stripped out within 3 days of operation.Motion sensor does not always sense motion.Installed batteries, no power and non-functional using battery power, only works with, fortunately, supplied adapter.First use, trash can lid did not open completely opened only about 25-35%, barely enough to empty an item into can without opening the lid manually to full open. Couldn't even dump coffee grounds from an auto-drip coffee maker filter holder to dump the used filter, and grounds into it. Making the sensing, and automatic option to open the can valueless and useless.After 3rd day of use, the lid on mine may or may not open, and if it does open, it isn't high enough to put anything in it, it is barely open enough to just get your fingers under the lid.And most often, when it does open to just finger width, as soon as the red light starts blinking, it does not stay open for the 6 second duration, it will slam shut HARD immediately on your fingers, which can injure your fingers, causing cuts and bruises. Could possibly even be worse injuries to your hand when this happens, believe me, it's very painful when this happens.It's supposed to be a slow, soft close, but when the gearing quit working, it's a very fast, hard slam closure.M9st often, it does nothing, green light, hear motor, lid doesn't even open at all if it does, again, just barelt enough room to get your fingers under the lid, but usually slams down very hard as soon as the light turns red, no delay, immediate hard slam down closure.I have had to disconnect all power and turn this now automatic touchless trash can into a manual, touch and open can by hand, defeating the purpose I bought it for.Too expensive to send back, but I would NEVER BUY this particular can ever again. Made in China junk.No, I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.My experience with this type can has now put me off on ever trusting, or using one of these types of automated trash cans ever again.Cost of this trash can was not worth the price I paid for it. Might be worth it, providing it had held up, but 3 days, and useless? And therefore, to me, it's only worth about $10-$15 at most for a trash can I have to manually open to use now.Wish I had never purchased this China made piece of junk.LIKES: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO LIKE ABOUT THIS TRASH CAN! If it had worked like it should, We'd have loved it, but it turned into a huge disappointment for us.
