Excellent for deodorant!
I recently started making my own deodorant, but the baking soda caused a rash, so I had to find a substitute. This zinc oxide works beautifully! I'm very pleased! Next, I'm going to attempt making my own sunscreen with this lovely, clean ingredient!

Good product, it's kept my skin burn free
This zinc oxide powder worked well in the sunscreen I made. I like that its non-nano and uncoated so I don't have to worry about it absorbing into my bloodstream. The finished product does feel a little pasty, not quite smooth, but that's to be expected. It wasn't visible after I rubbed it into my skin. I mixed it with my favorite moisturizing oils, beeswax, and essential oils. When using it you want about 20% of your sunscreen to be zinc oxide powder. From what I've read, you can't expect to get an SPF of more than 15. The molecules of this stuff tend to clump together so it's not properly dispersed into the formula. There's been a lot of hype about adding carrot seed and raspberry seed oils to the formula. Some websites claim these oils have an SPF of up to 50, but I cannot find any scientific data supporting these claims if you find any I'd love to hear about it. Both are great nourishing oils but don't expect them to contribute much SPF. An SPF of 15 is all most people need for moderate sun exposure and its perfect for me. I'm glad I bought this product, so far it's kept my skin burn free.

This has a tendency to sink to the bottom of the bowl, keep stirring. and wash all glass bowls and utensils by HAND. I made the mistake of putting the utensils and bowl in the dish washer and there was white everywhere. I had to rewash everything by hand and then clean out the dishwasher and run a clean cycle to get rid of it all. This was the first time using this product. lesson learned. I hope it works well...

Smelly feet? Not with this!
This works very well. I have had smelly feet for a LONG time. After some research, I bought some powder that worked very well. I found out that this is the special ingredient. Buying this was about 1/8th the price of the foot powder. I've been mixing this with some other foot powder that is inexpensive and creating my own version of the expensive stuff. Works great!I did a bit more research and found this is safe around genitals for women - a good thing - so no worries using it on other parts of your body, either.I put this in smelly shoes - a day later, NO smell at all. I don't have to use it daily - it destroys the bacteria for a couple weeks.

Finally, a non-oily sunscreen!
My face is very sensitive to moisturizers. I have only found two products that don't cause my skin to overproduce oil by the end of the day. Unfortunately neither of them provide any skin protection. That's when I thought about buying some zinc oxide powder and adding it to my own moisturizer!I added a scoop to the jar and gave it a good stir. Just applied it and it feels wonderful! There was that traditional white streak while rubbing it in, suggesting that it will in fact protect me from the sun. It is comforting to know that the zinc oxide is non-absorbing since my skin absorbes the moisturizer pretty quickly. A wonderful and versatile product!!

Probably won’t buy again
Purchased this for pretty much the reason all the other reviewer‘s mentioned. I added only a half teaspoon to 2/3 cup of Cerave when I came back the next day to use it the cream smelled just like bleach. I was afraid to use it so I’m a bit upset because Cerave is an expensive product. In fairness I will try to use with just I just a plain oil such as coconut oil or grapeseed oil or avocado oil. And also in fairness Cerave might have some other ingredients in it that may interact with a zinc oxide. Also agree about expiration date another reviewer mentioned.

Used to make sunscreen
Used this to make homemade sunscreen to get away from all the harmful chemicals in the over the counter sunscreen for my family. Works great!
