Get this awesome thing.
***Update after 7 years of daily use*** This is probably the last duffle/duty bag you'll ever need to buy. I've used this daily for construction work, and it's held up in every aspect. The zippers all work great, the handles are still solid, the pockets have no holes, etc. Only thing that's happened in 8 years and God knows how many washes, some of the coloring in the fabric is coming out. Other than that, this thing is worth way more than all the money you can carry in it, and that's at least $300k. Buy it, you won't regret it. This thing is strong as heck. I’ve been using it as a daily duty bag for about 6 months and it has been taking a beating with no bruises to show for it. Worth every penny for sure. Plenty of room for anything you’d want to put in it. I’ve even used it on multiple occasions to pack some clothes for overnight or weekend trips. It’s a go to get it done bag. But it, you’ll love it.

Bought one years ago, still in flawless condition. Best bag I've ever used.
Admittedly, I'm not the target market. I'm not a first responder or a member of the military, so I'm admittedly not using my "patrol bag" to go ON patrol. HOWEVER: I bought one of these in the middle of 2018, and it has been knocked about and treated with no great ceremony in that time. I've taken bus trips with it, hauled it in and out of a semi truck every two weeks, overloaded it with crap to the point I was sure I'd break the strap, whole nine yards. Bag is still absolutely, positively flawless. No rips, strap still secure and holding strong, all the zippers still work, whole nine yards. It's a bit dirty (not the bag's fault, definitely mine), but for all it's been through it's holding up amazingly well. Seriously can not recommend this enough for anyone that just needs to be prepared for every eventuality (and needs the storage for items TO USE in every eventuality), this is your bag. It also works fantastically as a laptop bag, I bought a second one since I bought a gaming laptop and I can fit the laptop, my mouse, my headset, three different external drives, the wireless station for my headset, a USB hub, the charging cable, a controller, and a shit-ton of other cables in there neatly -- and I've still got room to spare. It is seriously worth every penny thus far and I have no reason to suspect they wouldn't still be hauling my crap around in 10 years time. Edit 2024: one of my bags straps has finally had the plastic clip on it snap after I overloaded it. I replaced the plastic clip with a metal karabiner easily -- still pretty impressive longevity for plastic.

Great roomy bag, well organised
I officiate High School track meet and have accumulated quite a bid of gear; tape measures, starter pistols, clip boards, stop watches etc. This bag holds it all along with water bottles and I can strap an umbrella to the top for foul weather. It's reasonably water resistant and seems sturdy enough to make it through a few years of hard use. I carry about 25 pounds of equipment. I like this bag, I had a back pack which held most of this stuff and if I put it on the ground it would fall over and always gave me trouble finding things. This bag sits up nice and opens wide to view everything. The only thing I would change is the top, it has two zip compartments and a Velcro flap which hold paper and pens. The problem I have is when the top is open it flips over and the compartments are upside down. it would be great if they were the other way around or there were straps to hold the top vertical. Other than that it's a great bag.

A brilliant kit bag for every day use. There are two side pockets with zips and two front pouches with elastic tops. In between the elasticated pouches is another pouch with velcro closure and a name badge holder. The top of the bag has a large patch of felt velcro and I've attached the "Maxpedition Hook and Loop Zipper Pocket" to it. When the two carry handles are closed with the velcro fastener, it creates an area to keep a waterproof high-vis jacket - the handles keep the jacket in place, yet it's easy to get to if needed in a hurry. Inside the bag is a purpose built divider that creates three areas. The divider can be removed either for cleaning or simply to create one large compartment - it's held in place with velcro. The largest compartment is the full width of the bag and half the depth, taking up 50% of the space. The remaining space is divided into 3/4 and 1/4, with the front left compartment being the smallest. The inner lid houses the "admin" pockets for holding pens, keys (thick plastic clip included) and notebooks, as well as two further zip pouches. The base is thick and strong and it has four rubber "feet", but they're very small, so you have to be careful where you set it down (i.e., on a dry surface). The outer part of the lid also has two strong velcro loops which 5.11 says is for holding a baton - you could also use it for other things, for example, I have a bottle of hand sanitiser held in place with one of the loops - all I did was tightly wrap it around the bottle to hold it in place. Finally there's a sturdy shoulder strap which is curved for easier use and greater comfort. It can be attached both ways, or removed and stored elsewhere as applicable. The material is tough and strong, 600d polyester, and it's water resistant for about 20 minutes, but not waterproof. There are some waterproof bag covers available from different manufacturers that will fit over this product, but attaching them will block the handles and shoulder strap; I found that waterproof inner bags are a better choice. Most 5.11 bags have one or two holes in the base for drainage, but this one doesn't - if it gets wet inside, the only way to dry it out is to leave it in a warm room with the lid fully open and let nature take its course. Having used it every day for three weeks, I have to say that it's a great purchase. It's very strong and sturdy and can carry a lot of equipment, but it's also relatively compact, which makes it easier to carry and store. The only minor criticism I have is the lack of velcro fastener on he name badge holder; the side of the holder is open, and a name badge can fall out. I added my own velcro closure to secure the badge in place. Apart from that, I can't really fault the product.
