Camelbak Products Eddy Water Bottle, Royal Lilac, 1-Liter

I've had this bottle for about 8 months now and I love it.Pros:It has held up to wear and tear and daily use throughout this time. This includes dropping it on concrete multiple times which my previous water containers (plastic double sided cups with screw on lids and straws) did not survive intact at all.I have not had to replace the bite valve or straw or anything else yet (although replacing the bite valve might improve taste in the water so I may soon).The loop on the top makes it easy to carry even with my hands full.32 oz size holds plenty of water so refilling is less frequent.Easy to grab from the passenger seat of my car and drink without worrying about spilling when I toss it back over.Wide mouth makes scrubbing the inside of the vessel as easy as cleaning ordinary drinking cups (as opposed to narrow mouth bottles which you need a specialized bottle brush to clean inside)Cons:The bite valve picked up a mildewy odor when I had it sitting in a mildewy shop for a week or so. It took a month and some vigorous cleaning to get it relatively fresh again.The coating on the outside will permanently mar from deet based bug spray. Had bug spray on and tucked it under my arm and there is a matte area on the otherwise shiny bottle ever since. Cleaning did not remove but time and additional wear have somewhat polished this to be less noticeable.Water left in the bottle in a sunny or hot location, or for more than 8 hours will pick up an unpleasant plastic flavor.32oz size does not fit in my cupholder in my car (96 Honda Accord). It almost fits in the top portion but not deeply enough to stay put.Top edge of container will drip sometimes after filling if water gets on the rim.Bite valve does not lay flat properly. Replacing may fix this, I haven't tried. This results in the bite valve getting dragged over and bumping into things I don't always want on something I am putting into my mouth, sometimes I have to wipe it off before I drink.Finally, I purchased this bottle based on the recommendation and experience of a friend who had a very similar but slightly older model of Camelbak bottle. His got ran over by a Hummer and he was still using it a year or two later in full working condition. If you want a nigh indestructible bottle this is a very good choice.

This bottle is great! I use it everyday just as a water bottle while I am at work. it is a very good size, large enough that I am not constantly having to fill it up, but small enough that it is easy to carry by hand or toss into my bag. The nipple on the top has to be bitten to get water out AND can be pressed back to seal it. I have never had a leak. The nipple is silicone and hasn't shown wear yet. I was worried that constantly biting it would destroy it fast, I was wrong. The top seals well and has a small loop, just right for a finger to carry it. IT would probably do while on a carabiner as well. The bottle uses a straw, and does NOT work without it as a tile back bottle. For cleaning, it breaks down into 4 pieces; the top, the nipple, the straw and the bottle. I use it everyday and wash it about once a week, with no issue thus far. I have dropped this bottle a lot and it just shows a few scratches. I would highly recommend this bottle.

After being advised (read: harassed) by my doctor to drink more water, I bought this bad boy. I love straw water bottles, and I especially like the Camelbak kind with the bite straw, since I am a mess and spill everything. This works really great for me since I can't be filling my water bottle every two minutes at work, and this bottle holds a lot. I bought a monogram decal and stuck it to the outside of the bottle and so far it's survived washing and knocking around in my bag. I have dropped it as well and there was no damage to the bottle or the loop on the lid (where my Camelbak's usually break).The only people I would advise to stay away from this bottle are people who like really cold water or people who work outside where it's quite hot. This water bottle will sweat. A LOT. One day at work I put ice in it and left it on my desk for an hour and came back to a small puddle gathering at the base. For the average user though? this should work fine.
