This is a replacement for the cushioned eye piece for associated Nikon cameras. It's no different than the one that comes with the camera. It is the official Nikon release. I had a damaged eye piece for a D90 and it fit perfectly.

Why our eye cup keeps falling off when taking out or putting the camera in the case who knows. But it does. Don't glue yours on, just be a little careful touching that part of the camera. Keep an eye on it. Does fit like it should.

These eyepiece covers do not stay put on a Nikon D750. They slide off at inopportune times. Returned.

There's not a lot that can be said about an eyecup for the rear viewfinder. It was a simple and perfect replacement for my Nikon D7000. Not all eyecups are the same. I would caution anyone to research using the camera's specific part number to find the right one for your camera. For example, the (eyecup) part number for the Nikon D7000 is Ni-21, whereas the part number for the Nikon D5300 is Ni-25. This will alleviate a lot of disappointment.

I like that this piece can be removed for cleaning & such, but I hate that they are easily lost in certain circumstances. Fortunately replacement items are not expensive.

I like the design. It fits the camera well, but it has no locking mechanism and is pretty loose on the camera so it falls off my camera everytime I put it back in the bag. I wish they would make a eye cup that locks into place.

Dropped right into place and now I have an extra in the bag.

The OEM Nikon DK-21 is a solid rubber eyecup, this is a thin flimsy rubber piece shaped like the outside of the Nikon eyecup, but is hollow underneath. It fits ok, and may get the job done, but it's not the same quality as the original Nikon part.
