Too wordy for ADD
This book is very painful if you truly have ADD. Lots and lots of fill and fluff that make it very hard to navigate and tease out what might helpful NOW. sometimes I could only tolerate a couple of paragraphs at a time.

ADD-Friendly Ways to Organize Your Life 2017 (second) Edition has valuable changes!
Once upon a time, new Organizer slaying dragons, I read the 2002 edition of “ADD-Friendly Ways to Organize Your Life” by Judith Kolberg & Kathleen Nadeau. This was my review:“I had an unusual reaction to this book by Kathleen G. Nadeau, a highly-regarded ADD coach. This is an excellent resource for ADD-abled people because it is explicitly formatted for people with ADD - they can usually read it, when other traditionally-formatted books on the subject might not work for them at all. I LOVE to read. I had a horrible time trying to read this book. It was HARD. It was almost as if, because, at least as far as I know, I don't have ADD, the book was fighting against me. That was a VERY instructive experience. Kinda like wearing a blindfold for a day to try to understand what it's like to be blind.”Now, singed veteran, I’ve just finished the 2017 edition. 2017 is disarmingly different. Most startling, I found it easier to read- and there are reasons why. The print is smaller. The subheadings, sidebars and similar are more closely integrated into the main text. There’s less italicized copy. I’d love to grab a coffee with Ms. Kolberg and Dr. Nadeau and ask “WHY?”. I’m not criticizing the changes, which I’d bet are practical, because, for example, there’s more (new) material in the 2017 edition. But burning curiosity “WHY?” nonetheless. The most compelling changes – there are two new chapters. One goes in-depth into Financial Management, and one looks at the monster’s den that is the digital world. This edition of Kolberg’s and Nadeau’s collaboration is just as funny as the old, just as accessible. And now even more critically instructive for ADD-abled people. If you have the old edition, it is worthwhile to update to the new. If you don’t have this work at all, it is valuable for people with ADD or the people who would like to help their ADD-challenged clients, colleagues, friends and family.Lauren Williams, Certified Professional Organizer(R), Owner, Casual Uncluttering LLC, Woodinville, WA USA

this book released me from shame.
This book is so amazing. It literally changed my life. I had no idea that my quirks and the things I’ve beat myself up about we’re actually symptoms of ADD. I’ve had so much shame in my life and in a few hours this book released me from that shame.

I have both editions of this book now and the additions and improvements make it twice as valuable because the changes in technology tend to make our lives even harder to manage, but this book has a steadying influence.

Amazing Guide to Managing ADD/ADHD
I purchased this book at the recommendation of my neuropsychologist following my diagnosis with Adult ADHD. Highly recommended for anyone who’s been diagnosed with this condition because it’s a great guide to making behavioral modifications that will help you better manage your condition, lessening the negative impact ADD/ADHD can have on your day-to-day life. The best part about this book is the design and layout of the book. It’s noticable, that while writing this book, the authors took into consideration the difficulty people with attention deficits have when reading a book. You do not have to read the entire book front to back to get the take home messages. Instead, the book is divided into chapters and easy-to-read subsections where readers can parse at their own tempo, referencing the table of contents, jumping to whatever section they find most pertinent, and getting the information they need. Great reference book!

Life changing
I can't speak highly enough about this book. I struggle with adult ADHD and this has provided usable, life changing strategies for all aspects of my life. Not only that, it's been highly comforting and validating to know that I'm not alone in these challenges.

If you're not Marge Simpson, look elsewhere.
This book appears to be written almost exclusively for middle class American housewives. The number of times the authors states "many adults with ADD, especially women..." really makes me feel quite unwelcome as a man. Do women really have it worse than men, or is it that this book is written by two middle class American wives who can't imagine that anybody could ever have it worse than them?Like most self help books, you will be wading through pages and pages of barely believable anecdotes and scenarios that are suspiciously perfect examples of the point they're making, in order to get to the few useful nuggets of information. There is a lot of filler and padding, as we've decided as a society that you can't release a 20 page book packed with useful information. It has to be painfully dragged out to at least 250 pages. There are useless tips like: why not get a friend around to watch while you organise? Errr... because I'd like my friends to remain my friends. How about: always struggling to find a matching outfit in the morning? Why not buy a new wardrobe of matching outfits and hang them all together? Seriously. This is one of the tips in the book.Worst of all, a full third of the book is dedicated to solutions involving the hiring of ADD and organisational therapists, as if everybody has the time, money or inclination.I'd recommend this book to any overwhelmed woman aged 25-45, living in middle America, two kids, a dog called Bingo, a husband called Hank who earns $100k/year, a kitchen table stacked with unopened envelopes and a supply of close friends with limitless patience and understanding who would come around and watch you alphabetise your jam collection.Anybody else, I'd give it a miss.

This book is terrible, especially if you have ADHD.
This is as ADD/ADHD unfriendly a book as I have ever seen. Wordy. Rambling. Badly laid out. And quite patronising. Any useful tips are buried deep in a mountain of babble. And the slogans... "to get it done, make it fun!", "always subtract before you add!", and "get energize, get organised!"I could go on. But unlike the book, I won't.

Great book
I juste needed 3 things to get started: a Bluetooth and noise-cancelling headphone, a paying Spotify account and that book. It's easing to read with well-aired paragraphs, underlined main points and a summary and the end of the shorts chapter. It a feel-good-with-your-ADHD book and packed with doable goals and advises.A.must read when you finally decide to tackle the piles of stuffs at home, in your garage etc.
