Great Laptop
This arrived right on time and safely packaged. It has all the items as advertised and works great. Several sellers had this item for sale with different configurations but this one had everything I needed and at a great price.

Terrible equipment. Terrible service. Terrible repair capabilities.
I purchased a dell laptop in 2014, and received prompt delivery shortly thereafter. I did not purchase the extended warranty at the time. The laptop worked well to start with, but went dead in 2015, a bit more than 1 year after the purchase. I called Dell for service. Since it was then out of warranty, I was charged close to $300 for repair by Dell. I had quite a bit of software that had been put on the machine, and licensing restrictions make it difficult to transfer to another machine; otherwise scrapping the machine would have been a consideration (ouch!). I used the Dell repair service as opposed to any other service because I assumed that this "OEM" provider would know what they're doing. They have you ship it off to Houston Texas. Upon return, it fired up OK, but had additional problems. I called Dell, and their service technicians could not figure it out over the phone (they all operate out of New Deli, in India, I'm told). I shipped it back again, and upon the 2nd return they inflicted other additional problems. "Ship it to us again", I'm told. This goes on & on & on with these idiots. How about a replacement unit", I finally said (not sure what we'd do about getting the software that I need). Then, after jumping through numerous hoops and hours & hours on the phone, I eventually got a Dell employee in India (part of the "Advanced Resolution Group" - ha) to agree to ship me a replacement unit ("refurbished", not new), although he could give no guarantee of the age of the replacement unit. Since a laptop's useful life is normally probably 5 - 6 years, I was concerned that they could ship me a 4 yr-old unit as a replacement for my 15-month-old unit, and I'd be worse off than before. And then, of course, the likelihood of this thing breaking down in a year (a greater possibility if I'm working on a unit that's near the end of its useful life), causes great nervousness to me. The guy in India seemed to have a hard time understanding my position. When I asked the Advanced Resolution Group rep in India if I could talk to his boss, he refused, telling me that his boss does not take calls. When I asked who is the next higher up level in the company that I could talk to, he told me that there is none, outside of Michael Dell.As of this typing right now, I'm on a loaner unit, and still don't have a working laptop of my own. I am a professional engineer, and I have a need for a WORKING laptop in my everyday life; life is much more difficult right now. Oh, and one other comment: Dell did agree to help me get software (that I've already paid for) re-installed on my machine, but only if I agree to pay an additional $154 (beyond the $300 that they're already charged me for the service from their teenage hacks down in their Texas shop). I took a quick look inside the machine (which I know little about), and did notice that they now use cheap Taiwanese hardware for the factory-installed hard drive. I've owned many Dell machines over the past 15 - 20 years, with no problems. The Dell equipment (and associated reliability) has gone seriously downhill in the recent past. And, their repair capabilities is even worse!!! I will NEVER EVER EVER buy any Dell equipment again, and suggest the same position of anyone reading this. In a recent conversation with an associate in the engineering community, I was told about their Dell problems, very similar to this one (both reliability AND service), and was told that they've found the best solution is to just pitch the Dell machine and purchase a new HP unit. Michael Dell has done quite well on this company, I'm told...gotta wonder how well he sleeps well at night.

Screen Freeze.
The screen freeze started about a month after it arrived and has gotten worse since.a year and a half later and I'm rebooting 5 times per day or so...just freezes at no particular time. Have no idea what the problem is.This is my last Dell. Last one got the Blue screen of death and died, this one in need of repair less than two years old.Other than that it's a snappy little laptop. Desktops for me from now on...home built.
