Tyzack Soft Feel Archaeology Pointing Trowel

I bought this trowel because I watch Mudlarking on the Thames with Nicola White. I wanted to try Mudlarking in my area. HOWEVER, when trowel arrived I was surprised by the quality and workmanship of the trowel! It is a great general trowel which I immediately used on all my house plants to loosen soil and improve the health of the soil. ALSO, the Grandkids (8 & 12) liked it a lot and can't wait to go troweling about my yard and local streams and lakes. Worth the price.

The trowel is very effective and efficient. I love it. I bought mine for an archaeological field school. It worked amazingly. It’s sturdy and I love that the handle and trowel are one piece of metal. This makes it a very sturdy tool. The only thing I would recommend is to sharpen the edges with power prior to going out to the field, using a field file will take you forever.

Had the opportunity to try one of these a friend had. I was very impressed how sturdy it was. When I received mine it was exactly the same.

Super high quality. After 40 years of use, I finally broke off the tip of my trowel which I used for archaeology and, later in life, gardening. The new trowel feels right in my hand and is obviously high quality.

El producto es excepcional, es una de las mejores herramientas que puedes utilizar en el proceso de excavación. Sólida, resistente, durable y fácil de mantener.A el producto WHS, le doy 5 estrellas, pero desafortunadamente el servicio de envío se tardó cerca de 1 mes para entregarlo, además de que no cuentas con un manera fácil de rastrear el paquete, a diferencia de otros productos en Amazon. La gran ventaja es que puedes comprar desde la ciudad de México, una excelente herramienta para la excavación arqueológica. Sólo prepárate para esperar el pedido.

Länge des Kellenblattes: 10,5cm, maximale Breite: 5,5 cm.Erfahrungswerte nach 1 Monat im Feldeinsatz:+ Grip am Werkzeuggriff sehr gut, nicht zu groß oder klein. Auch mit Handschuhen guter Grip.+ der verarbeitete Stahl hat sich beim Erstschleifen der Kanten als zufriedenstellend erwiesen. Der Stahl ist im Vergleich zu anderen Herstellern vergleichsweise gut. Diese Kelle war aufgrund der Stahlqualität und der Blattgröße mein Favorit während dem einmonatigen Grabungseinsatz, bei teils sehr grusigem Sediment+ nach einem Monat Arbeitseinsatz keine lockeren Stellen an der Griffmanschette+ diese Kellengröße (10cm x 5 cm) erwies sich praktisch beim Feinputz und Abbau kleinräumiger Verfüllungen.+ Kelle nach dem Arbeitseinsatz unbedingt vor Korrosion schützen (auf meinen Bildern noch nicht geschehen)!+ Holzgriff lackiertFAZIT:Tolle Kelle, macht wertigen Eindruck, werde wieder von Spear & Jackson bestellen, 5 von 5 Sternen.________________________________________english:I bought this pointed trowel with wooden handle in June 2023 for approx. 18€ (!). Good grip even with leather labour gloves.+ The processed steel proved to be satisfactory during the initial grinding of the edges. The steel is comparatively good compared to other manufacturers. Due to the steel quality and the blade size, this trowel was my favourite during one month of excavation work, in sometimes very gruesome and rough sediment.+ after one month of work, no loose spots on the handle sleeve+ this trowel size (10cm x 5 cm) proved to be practical for polishing and removing small-scale backfill.+ Protect the trowel against corrosion after use (not yet done in my pictures)!+ Lacquered wooden handleCONCLUSIONS:Great trowel, makes a good impression, will order again from Spear & Jackson, 5 out of 5 stars.

Utilizzata questa estate per i miei primi scavi, si è rivelata molto comoda. L'impugnatura ergonomica e antiscivolo fa la differenza, non ho mai avvertito nessun fastidio a mano e polso. Gli angoli non appuntiti fanno sì che non ci si faccia male mettendola in tasca e che non si asporti eccessivo materiale. Un po' pesante rispetto ad altre che ho provato, ma sicuramente più solida. Dopo un mese di scavo si nota qualche piccolo segno di usura, ma ne avrà ancora per tanti anni. Il prezzo è un po' alto ma sicuramente è un prodotto di qualità che durerà nel tempo, sono soddisfatto.
