This hose will hopefully be my last! As soon as it was delivered I knew it was a much heavier duty hose because of the weight and then because of the thickness of the material. My pool is only a year old and EVERY blue hose I have received or purchased for it, has blown a hole on the first or second use. I called my pool company to ask if I was doing something wrong and they told me that all the blue hoses are crap. I asked about another solution and then said I could rig up some other sort of hard pipe to put on and off when I had to remove water or backwash. I found cheap hoses for around $15 and they didn't do it, then I found one at Lowes for $24. It was a darker color blue and because of the price, I thought it was maybe better. Same deal as the others. So I splurged on this Gorilla one and it's everything I hoped for. My only issue was getting it on discharge adapter. The material is a bit slippery and super tight to get on. I got out my wife's hair dryer and heated up the hose as i pushed/twisted it on. All is well. The extra money spent was worth it because of the many times I've been annoyed with the traditional blue hoses.

Edit - on my second season and I have not been gentle with this hose. it's dragged around, left in the sun. It still looks brand new.I was hesitant to get this - as I'm a believer in buying non-branded things to avoid paying extra $$. Or realized the black hose might be more appealing (work in an industry where everyones getting black gloves because they're cool, but the clear ones are cheaper and work the same - moral of story, i'm cheap). But I like this particular brand and was getting frustrated with the flimsy blue hoses. So paid the extra $15 and i'm glad I didn't cheap myself out.MUCH more sturdy than even the most 'sturdy' versions of the blue hose. My pool design is horrible (house came this way) - and there are a bunch of angles the hose must be laid out - easy to cause a lot of pressure. This hose has stood up for the entire season and when i was putting it away noticed it looked practically new.Highly recommended - don't be cheap.

I purchased this backwash hose for my pool’s sand filter. After buying the cheap blue ones that kept breaking, I finally bought the black Gorilla backwash hose and wow, what a difference! Very high quality! It is thick, durable, and very easy to hook up. Yes it’s a little pricier and heavier than the cheap blue ones but has already paid for itself after going through two cheap backwash hoses. This one is built to last! I backwash my sand filter twice a month, so it has gotten plenty of use. I highly recommend!!

Counterfeit knockoff! Either that or its not new as advertized, it's repackaged. This contains nothing that says Gorilla brand. It does appear to be very sturdy but the price is high for whatever it is.

After reading reviews on other hoses and how flimsy or how they split etc. I decided to go with Gorilla brand knowing they are excellent quality. Im glad I did. This hose is super thick and durable. Its obvious just looking at it that its nothing like the flimsy blue ones I saw online. I dont see it going bad for a very long time. I highly recommend this if you want quality and something that will last.
