Easy, Delicious, Homemade Food
The name of this cookbook speaks for itself: Super Simple. The book is my go-to when I do not have much time, but I still want to cook at home. This cookbook is perfect for you & worth every penny if you are:* new to cooking and looking for simple but yummy recepies* looking for a cookbook to use on a weakly basis* looking to feed a family but have a limited time* experinced cooks who are interested in classic recepies with a fun twist* in love with Half Baked Harvest blogI have been following Tieghan on Instagram for about a year and she shares many recepies on her blog. When I was considering buying this book, I had some debates if it was worth it, since her blog is already filled with wonderful recepies. After many days of debating, reading reviews, and going back and forth, I finally decided to get the book. What I truly love about this cookbook is that I can see myself making every single one of the dishes. There are many cookbooks you buy and you are only interested in maybe 10 recipes, the rest is just meh or way too complicated. However, it is not the case with the Half Baked Harvest cookbook. There is a very good balance of the recepies. Every section has a variety of yummy creations that you should try making. The book is so versatile it would work for any season. There was one thing that I have had some issues with is desserts. I am not sure if it is me, but every dessert that I made based on the cookbook, came out a bit off. When I was making a strawberry naked cake, my cake came out way too thick, and I had cream leftover, so I covered the entire cake with cream instead of leaving it open. The peach cobbler had way too much liquid. And banana bunt cake was a bit tough. I followed the recipe exactly and use proper measurements but it still does not come out exactly as on the picture. Don't get me wrong everything was still very delicious! My suggestion would be for more complicated recepies to have a section with what might go wrong and how to prevent it.In conclusion, Half Baked Harvest Super Simple is a book that was made with love and care. Beautiful illustration, heart-filling stories, and wide variety of recepies will submerge you in a wonderful world of Tieghan Gerard.

Perfect!
I read a review that the buttery croissants were there grossest thing that they have ever made, but I completely disagree! It was absolutely delicious! I actually chose to buy my croissants at Starbucks for this recipe, because they have the best croissants in my opinion. The croissants at grocery stores tend to lack a lot of flavor by itself.. So, I think the key to this is to have good croissants to begin with and high quality cheese. Not every croissants taste the same. The same goes for cheeses even if they are both the same type of cheese. The different brands and companies do taste different..That being said- I LOVE THIS BOOK! It is simple, but a little on the tedious side. There is just a lot of ingredients and prepping. But that is why the recipes taste GREAT with a lot of flavor.Other recipes I have tried:1. Frico & Polenta fried eggs: were good, but not excellent. And, I used DeLallo quick cooking polenta. It says it’ll feed 1, but I think it feeds 2. Or, it can be like a side dish to some bacons or something else.. It’s just too much for an entree, because you get sick of it fast.2. Pressure cooker mash potatoes: excellent. Very flavorful! Different!3. Gingered Apple pork chops: excellent! I didn’t have Apple cider on hand so I used 3/4c Apple juice instead. I also used green grapes instead of red!4. Rosemary peach bruschetta chicken: excellent!5. Coconut chicken tikka masala: excellent only, because I add my touches to it, and that is 2 hand fulls of basils (chopped), and about 2-3 tbsp of honey. Taste like Indian food! Loved it!6. Sheet pan Cuban steak: excellent!7. Beef bourguignon: good. It really does pair well with the pressure cooker mash potatoes in this book.8. The butter croissants as stated above: excellent!9. Egg in hole with tomatoes and bacon: amazing! However, I used whatever I had on hand, which is homemade sourdough bread from Five Minutes A Day bread book, pesto from Jamie Oliver instead of her homemade recipe, and grape tomatoes (halves) instead of heirloom. It.. was.. delicious! For me, this book was well written, and superb in execution and taste! One of the best cookbook out there.. I have to say though, she does love her bacon as a base ingredient for most recipes!
