Tell Me It's Real

I love this book
I just adore this. First TJ Klune is just so darned talented. I've enjoyed everything I've read that they have done. I love that the protagonist is that "gay and average" person. I think this is just a fun read - and I would expect nothing less from TJ. I think the art is wonderful. I enjoy this so much I've actually been limiting the number of pages I can read a day so I can enjoy it for longer. I know I'll read it again but nothing is as cool as that first read through.Buy this book.

An honest and heartfelt(and VERY sexy) journey about inner beauty!
Holy crud! I had no idea what to expect when I started reading this, but I didn't expect such an amazing mixture of genuine, heart-warming fluff and steamy, swoon-inducing love-making!Biggest Pros:- Paul Auster and Vincent Taylor make such a great couple. Their dynamic is interesting, and unfolds through skillful use of words and actions. They have great chemistry, and I was cheering for them the entire read.-Great sense of humor (physically shook with laughter at some of Vince's scenes)and very nice treatment of the LGBT community.-The art style is very pleasing to the eyes. It's a sorta neat mixture of yaoi and light-hearted manga. This guy really digs it.-The story is moving enough to bring someone to tears. Being an overweight gay guy myself, Paul's struggles are very relatable.-The sex scenes are such a pleasure to read. Beautiful art and dialogue makes the reader experience the raw emotion and sincerity behind the love-making.Cons:-I just wish there was more.Overall: This is an amazing read, and T.J. Klune and Jakky should be very proud of themselves. If you like LGBT literature, or love good romances you really should read this!

Beautiful Art and Great Story!
So I haven't actually read the novel that this is adapted from but even so the story in this manga is complete and 100% entertaining. There's an amazing balance of comedy and drama in this story that very few authors can pull off (TJ Klune obviously being one of them), and that's part of what makes this such a great book to adapt into this medium of graphic novel.I'm so impressed by the art style and am so glad that it enhances this story instead of distracts from it. Some of the recent m/m manga adaptations that have come out just haven't had a good art style, but I'm so glad that that wasn't the case for Tell Me It's Real.People who have read this novel will love this adaptation, and the people who haven't read it (like me) will fall in love with the characters and story too!5 Stars

Didn't read the novel first
I know this is an adaptation of the book, and not having read the book, I won't comment on how well the adaptation was done. Overall I thought this version was fine, and I enjoyed the art.One thing that it is easy to forget, this was written in English, translated and adapted into Korean for the original graphic novel, and then that Korean version, with story adaptations required for the graphic form, translated back into English. In such an undertaking, I would fully expect the heart of the original to remain true, while some of the details maybe get rearranged.I am glad that Dreamspinner was willing to work with their authors on this graphic novel experiment, though it doesn't sound like there will be any more. I have read several and enjoyed them all.

Holy sweat balls!!
Tell Me It’s Real is probably my favorite book by TJ Klune. Then to have it adapted into a manga?!?! Outstanding!!!!!! Of course parts were changed and taken out but overall this still has the joy, silliness and romance of the original novel. I recommend this book to everyone!!!

An Amazing Adaptation
The Klune's dramatic characterizations pair perfectly with the Jakky's exaggerated style. The story follows the source material exactly while only omitting a few minor details (RIP Johnny Depp). That being said the comic itself is twice the size of a typical manga so you are definitely getting your moneys worth!

Wonderful.
Fantastic artwork. The artist managed to capture Klune's charm and humor. I just loved the characters being brought to life this way. Thank you!

Beautiful queer love story
Honestly, I just love it so very much. The illustrations are so expressive and lovely. The story is very sweet and real. It's so funny, had me laughing out loud and crying and everything. I love that it's about adults, as sooo much queer romance is about teenagers, which is obviously important representation too. But it's nice to read about characters in the same life stage as me. If there's someone in your life who has difficulties in their love life, maybe they think they'll never find someone who loves them for them, this could be a lovely gift.

A cute companion to the book
I love TJ Klune's work and I love comics so when I saw one of his books was in comic form I jumped at the chance to own it. Tell Me It's Real is a cute, hilarious, heartwarming story. Paul and Vince are adorable and seeing the story come to life in picture form was really fun. However, I do definitely recommend reading the original book before this one. This is a toned down, shortened version of the original story. All the main plot points are here but you will miss some really great moments with this story alone. Johnny Depp Paul's grandmas homophobic parrot who hates Paul and is in love with Vince, for example.

NEW as promised!
Something that has nothing to do with this book. If I find manga, name or a title I want to buy.... I mostly find it but it is ALWAYS SOLD OUT! What a pity, thank you, kind regards, Nick
