Now, I’ve never shipped heavy books, but I’ve slid heavy boxed items in these bags, as I buy various sizes of them, and I’ve shipped heavy bags of clothing weighing almost 20lbs. These bags are pretty sturdy. I think you’d be alright double bagging a heavy book in these. Plus, they look nice.
