Vietnamese Children's Favorite Stories (Favorite Children's Stories)

Beautiful animation and excellent storytelling. My niece and nephew loved this book! It was a very nice change from the stories they've heard a thousand times and introduced them to another culture. Highly recommend.

I bought this as a Lunar New Year gift for one of my students. The illustrations are beautiful.

Both my husband and I are Vietnamese immigrants. I bought this book for bedtime reading and to help my kids understand a little more about the Vietnamese culture. To my surprise, we couldn't put the book down. Every story was entertaining and captivating. My 8 yo read on his own and loved it. Not only did it kept the kids engaged, we learned from it too and it brought back so many of my childhood memories. My only wish is that there could be diacritic signs on the Vietnamese words so I can read it with correct pronunciation. Other than that, it's a great book.

I bought this for my nephew as I wanted him to be familiar with some of his heritage and background. I ended up reading through the entire book myself and my husband, who's Indian, loved all the stories as well. This book provides a vehicle for my nephew to connect with his history and background and have an understanding of where some of the culture and tradition come from. I would definitely buy this for my own kid. The pictures are beautiful and the stories are easy to follow with a good layout.

I was born in Vietnam and moved to the US when I was 7. I remember these stories being told when I was younger. I've since forgotten them though so it was nice to read them again. I mainly got this book for my daughter who was born in the US. I do wish that there the book was divided in two sections - English and Vietnamese.

I really love this book. It contains many short stories and each taught my kids a lesson. My kids were excited and couldn't wait each night for a new story. I definitely would recommend this book for parents! I wish there are more. I would buy them in a heartbeat!

This was purchased for a first grade Vietnamese student. It's a bit difficult for her to read herself yet. She told me she loves the stories and there are some she hadn't heard before. She's enjoying reading it with family members.

I’m half Vietnamese that grew up with limited knowledge of my heritage. But I found this as an adult and it makes me feel more connected as silly as it may be. But hopefully someday I can pass these same stories on in my family to not lose that culture

Excellent story book , well written, good choice of stories and warm feeling when reading. The author is deserved to receive the Prize for this children book. A big congratulations and thank you for writing such beautiful children story book.

Would be better if the characters's names were written in Vietnamese (with all the dấu). I'm Vietnamese, bought this to read to my son who only knows English. Neither he nor I know how to pronounce these names correctly without googling the actual Vietnamese names of the characters.
