Great beginner set
I think it is a great starter set and would offer a lot of possibilities before you needed to upgrade. I am really into watercolor right now, so what I wanted was the easels. I already have the watercolor paint, paper, and a few brushes, so I decided go with this package instead. For starters, the tabletop wooden easel came as described. There were no cracks or splinters. The hardware functioned like it should. The front and sides were finished, smooth, and I think varnished. The little drawer did stick, so I took it out and ran a candle down all the parts that touched against the frame. I put it back in and it has been fine ever since. I saw a bigger one, with a bigger drawer, at Hobby Lobby for about $60.00, but that stops being portable and starts getting heavy and cumbersome. This one is light enough to put away like a big book and pull out when you need it. The little drawer is only big enough for brushes, pencils, the color chart, and other small tools. The foldable easel is a little harder to figure out, but I like it now. It has levers and clamps all over it and takes a while to realize for example that the center bar goes into the same hole the strap is in. The legs expand individually, which could be an advantage. There is a clip at the top for the drawing board or canvas. I don't have kids or pets around now, and I haven't taken it out in the wind. There's a guy on amazon who has figured how to make a bag to put rocks in to hang from the center, and he sells it here---maybe I will copy that if I need to. I always wash new brushes to get out the starch and make sure there aren't any loose bristles. The red handled brushes look like they would work well with acrylics or oils, so I will set them aside for that. The big bag of 15 utility brushes have hair and a stick, but I don't know what I will use them for--U.S. supply sells the bag for $3.00 on their website, so they know they are cheap. The set in the blue zip case are actually very nice, and will work even for watercolor--the round brushes hold a point, hold water well, and are pleasant to use. The fan brush is very interesting--it can make some interesting effects. The case for the brushes has an off smell and needs to be aired out., but it will be convenient. I haven't used the other supplies, but I will get around to them at some point. This was a fun purchase. I bought through an alternate seller that was near my house, TCP global, that also had prime shipping. Everything was triple boxed and came in 2 days.

Beginner kit, great deal
I was expecting way less than this, especially cause some reviews were complaining about quality and missing items. I got everything and in perfect condition. I still haven’t used the items but I can tell that these are not professional ones, however it is perfect for beginners and who’s planning to add up to that afterwards. I think the easel is really good and compact (it comes in a case that you can take anywhere), exactly what I was looking for (even though I wanted the wooden easel, they are usually very bulky). The table easel is a plus in this set and I know people like wooden materials (so do I), but I also like to match them.. and since the easel is a different material and black color, I wouldn’t mind if the table easel was the same. The other items are good too, it is a starter kit for sure. I love that it comes with so many brushes and 24 colors of acrylic paint.

Perfect starter kit
I took a "painting with a twist" class and got the bug to try painting on my own. I read mixed reviews about this, so bought it with some hesitancy... especially about the paints being dry. But this was better than I expected by far. I love the little fold up easel with the drawer, and the plastic pallet is great because you can wash it out. The tubes of paint are small, but all the tubes were capped tightly and all the paint was was good. The brushes are very nice wood handles, the canvas's were also good. I bought an large tube of white and black at the same time, but now in retrospect I would get smaller extra tubes so they would fit in the drawer, too. The way the whole kit folds up makes it easy to take anywhere, too. My first solo painting was of my daughter on horseback on the dunes at Cape Cod, it's pretty beginner stuff, but I was delighted with how easy the paints and brushes made it to get the different colors and effects.

Great for Young, Beginners, & People who Just Want to Know How to Paint
Right off the bat everyone should know that this art set is not meant to be for a middle-of-the road to expert artist. It is purely for the beginning artist, young artist, or anyone who just wants to see what painting is like. If you complain about the price of the items and their quality, then you don't know how much artist supplies do cost. You can easily spend $50 on one quality tube of paint or one paint brush, and art easels can easily go over $100. In other words, I got exactly what I expected. I bought this painting set for my 7 year old daughter who likes to paint, but doesn't need to have high-quality art supplies. The brush set provided is perfect for my daughter, but does lack a bright, filbert, and a fan brush. The paints are not even student quality, so the pigmentation is not going to be very impressive, but works well for my daughter. The color wheel has been great in teaching her some minor things in color theory, such as complimentary colors. The canvases are average, but again it is for my daughter and suits her needs perfectly. She loves the palettes, because they make her feel all "grown up." The added bonus is you get two, wood and plastic. If she continues to paint she can decide which one she prefers. I only gave it 4 stars, because as others have mentioned the easel drawer is not big enough for the paints that come with the set. However, it will hold pencils, and some paint brushes. Also there are smaller paint tubes that will fit in the drawer. Overall, I have one happy little girl who feels like a "professional" artist.

Great value, lots of stuff to get started!
I got this set for my son and I to start painting with acrylics. I am super excited to get started! My son loves art and I fell in love with painting with acrylics ever since I took a painting with a twist course about 4 years ago. This set seems great for beginners. The only thing I wish is that it had more canvases in the kit. Other than that, it is perfect!
