Braun vs Phillips
My first venture into the realm of electric shaving occurred last year when I bought a Philips Smart Shaver 7000 series. The Philips was OK, but I have fairly sensitive skin, and it would leave my skin red and blotchy after each use, unless I shaved wet while in the shower. It would also miss several fairly large patches of hair, despite multiple attempts going over the same area in the mirror. The fine trimming attachment was also a bit useless, so the razor could never really get at the hard-to-reach hairs just under the nose. All this started to get a bit annoying, and I’d find myself preferring to use my old razor instead, somewhat defying the point of having it! As such, I’d been toying with the idea of replacing the Phillips for a while. I was torn between sacking-off electric shaving all together, sticking to the wet-shave standard Gillette/Wilkinson sword models and classing it as a failed experiment, vs upgrading to a different style premium electric razor. The cost of the premium models (c.£300-500) had always been prohibitive. However, when I came across this Braun Series 9 with cleaning station for a massively reduced price (£169.99) in the Black Friday sales, I thought ‘now or never!’, so took the plunge. I must say, I’m really pleased. The set-up was really easy, and the first use was great. It handled my skin really well, and left no annoying patches. Afterwards, my skin was soft and there were no red blotches in sight. It also successfully got at the hard-to-reach areas with no issues at all. It feels solid and well-made, but isn’t too heavy, so it’s easy to maneuver. The cleaning station is fairly chonky, but isn’t too intrusive. It sits quite happily on my bathroom shelf in the corner with plenty of room to spare. I returned to find the unit perfectly clean, fully charged and ready to use again. So, all-in-all, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone else, especially at this price. It’s good for sensitive skin, quick, efficient and has a handy extra blade for hard-to-reach areas without having to take the head off and add another separate attachment. For me, at least, it seems to work better than the rotary razor equivalents. That being said, I haven’t tried the equivalent Phillips 9000 model, but I’m satisfied enough with this Braun not to bother.

Perfect shaver for daily shaves or longer
Best shaver I've ever used. Hands down. I have been the happy owner of a series 7 Braun for about 2 years, and in my personal experience of using it every 2-4 days it was an excellent shaver. I have the worst mix of sensitive neck skin and thick stubble, so I opted for foil over rotary when I bought it back then. Apart from the odd day of slight razer burn it served me well given the rest I could give my neck between shaves. I have since been needing to shave daily for a change in work circumstance and I was finding the series 7 too harsh on short stubble with my mix of hair type and skin sensitivity, so I purchased a Phillips Norelco series 9 to try, as it's supposedly better with thick hair, and is touted as being good for sensitive skin (compared to other rotaries, I presume now...). *It is not good for either*. I used it for one day, instant razer burn, neck rash and discomfort all day, and after 6 hours it looked like I had 24 hours worth of stubble. It was awful. All supposedly from Phillips's best shaver to date. Safe to say I won't ever buy one from them. I returned the Phillips and went for the series 9 Braun instead. Every review I have read comparing the Braun 7 & 9 series say that 'the 9 is only slightly better, you won't see any difference, series 9 is overkill for daily shaving etc'. From my experience that is all a heap of tosh. The differences are incredible. I have yet to experience any discomfort from both wet or dry shaving every morning. It glides over your skin, you have no sense of abrasiveness that the thinner-headed 7 series had. It's comfy to hold, charge time is great, the cleaning station is excellent and it dries the shaver ready for the next day unlike the 7 series cleaning station that lets it drip and air dry. The differences in the foils must be the key reason I've had such a better experience. The 7 series is thinner, comprising of 2 foils and one cutting element. The 9 series has 2 foils, 2 cutting elements and a sensitivity strip that helps keep your skin flatter between the gaps in the head, and the shaver is spread further out as a result. It's only a matter of about 6mm wider, but my does it make a difference. For the sake of another £45 or so you have to take the 9 over the 7 all day long. It's remarkable.

It’s not worth it at all. I invested in it hoping it’ll be better for my sensitive skin but is not. The shave is not perfect and leaves a few hair behind and also the skin is braised

Simplemente perfecta.
