AWSOME!
I have an RV which uses the battery as a filter for the power supply. Yep, no filter cap at all, just a trans former and a couple of diodes. Not even full wave! Ugh! Not knowing this when the original I ceiling fan (1996) died, I replaced it with a new (2023) one with a IR remote. Doing a full test, as soon as I got to shore power only and disconnected the battery, the fan beeped sporadically and died. I put a scope on the power only to find a saw tooth wave! What the @#$&! No where in the original RV manual from the manufacturer does it say that the battery needs to be on when using shore power. Common sense? Like don’t spit into the wind, or stir into on coming traffic? I don’t think so!Anyway, it works perfect. Nice construction. Easy installation, but it helps to be an experienced technician or electrician. If not just hire one.So I replaced the old one with this true switching filtered smart power supply and battery tender.

Electrical problems over!
I live aboard my 34 foot fifth wheel in the lower California desert. Cold in the winter, super hot in the summer. My 22-year-old Magnatek converter charger finally faded away. I contacted Parallax, they told me which unit to install to replace the old one, so I ordered it from Amazon. It was a super easy installation, I have some knowledge of electrical wiring, but I’m no expert. The written instructions that came with it were very thorough, however there were some challenges, I called a very very helpful technical helpdesk at Parallax, They walked me through it easily and now my batteries are charging, my 12 V interior lights are bright again and the 110V power coming in from the pedestal doesn’t go off in the middle of the night anymore. this unit regulates the power coming in from the solar panels and matches it with shore power for the optimal combination. I recommend the Parallax brand and this product number 6345 RU.

Easy installation
This power converter came with excellent directions and works better than the OEM converter.

Was what I needed
I am only giving this 3 stars due to the instructions where not very easy to understand. After a few YouTube videos I was able to figure it out.

Blew the capacitors just after hooking up
finally got around to hooking this up and no more than I connected it and then the power I hear loud pops and it does not work. Opened up the access panel and two of the capacitors had blown. Reached out to the manufacture for help and never heard back from them. What a waste of money!

If you have the Magnetek 6345 you need this upgrade.
The install is a pretty simple wire for wire, screw for screw swap. The 3 stage charger treats my batteries nice, fast charge gentle idle and this unit switches between shore power, generator, and battery so smooth and fast. A complete 180 from that heavy ass iron core battery boiling single stage transformer from another era of electronics this replaced. Some people do complain that you will most likely need to bend the mounting ears back in place since they tend to get a little bent in shipping. I didn’t think this was much of a concern. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Works great!
Husband had a little difficulty figuring it all out, but once installed, works great. Saved us a lot of money, too.
