Great tool for saving and preserving leftover wine.
I like this Victoria Design Wine saver Vacuum Pump for preserving my unused wine so that it will still taste good up to 5 days later. I am the only wine drinker in my house and I never drink a whole bottle in one evening so this is the perfect answer for saving leftover wine until the next night, With this Victoria Design Wine Saver Vacuum Pump my wine is still as good as new the next or even the third or forth night. No more wasted vinegary wine. I did find it to be a little confusing to know when I had pumped the wine saver enough times but I think I have it figure out.

Works very well - compares nicely to my Oxo set
Please note: I received a free sample for an evaluation and honest review. In a nutshell, this is a nicely made vacuum pump/stopper kit that is similar to several other products on the market. While I wouldn't call the packaging "luxurious" like the title implies, the box is pretty nice and would make a fine gift presentation. The pump is comfortable for me to use, and the stoppers hold a seal as well as my Vacu Vin and OXO models - which means that they work well. The longest that I've kept a stopper on a bottle to try this model out was two days, but it still (from what I could tell) had maintained a complete seal without any noticeable leaks for that whole time. If you've ever used one of these systems, it's pretty easy to tell if the seal has leaked, but this one sucked in air when I pushed the cap to break the seal - which is an excellent sign.I bought the Vacu Vin model years ago, and the one feature that it has that I LOVE that I haven't seen on others is that the pump will make a clicking sound once it's reached a certain level of vacuum. I like knowing when I've reached a good level versus guessing. That said, the Vacu Vin pump handle isn't as comfortable as the one on this model - and it costs more. Out of the three that I own (including this one), the Oxo probably has the most comfortable pump to use, but this one is close. This one is actually much more comfortable to use than I had expected from the photos of the handle. I think that this Victoria Design pump has a bit more flair to it than the Oxo, too, and costs just a little less.In conclusion, the one that I received has worked well for me. Bang-for-the-buck-wise, I'd put it up against the Oxo model and would suggest getting whichever you think looks the best (or get the Oxo if comfort is your biggest criterion). If you want some indication of when you've pulled out a good amount of air, the Vacu Vin is a great choice. Happy drinking!

Great wine saver pump
This wine pump is very nice, I was skeptical because I couldn't get it to work I didn't understand what I was doing wrong well simple solution make sure you have the rubber cork down in the bottle all the way and then it really works, You pop in the rubber cork attach the pump to the top and start pumping and you can tell when it's removed enough air because it will be hard to pull up on the pump and when you are done you can remove rubber stopper and and it has a suction and then I do it again because I was fascinated it really works and it will save you money because by removing air your wine will not oxidize and will taste better because it will not spoil if you don't drink the whole bottle in one setting you can save it for later and it won't spoil It is very light weight with a silver body with the Victoria design logo on it and it came with 2 rubber stoppers and came packaged in a nice black box that is great for a gift for someone who loves wine I would recommend this wine pump you will be very happy with it.

Preserve your wine by pumping out the air!
Cute gift set! This would make a really nice present but you might want to keep it for yourself! The box opens with a slide off top to reveal the bottle opener with two stoppers attractively displayed. The pump is mostly plastic with a metal grip (as shown in pic). The pump slides easily. The two stoppers fit nicely into the bottle and all you do is firmly hold the pump on the stoppers and pump the air out of the bottle. The stoppers are air-tight so that no air is released. By taking the air out of the wine bottles you preserve the wine for a longer period of time. A great item to have if you are a wine drinker! *I received a sample of this item at a discount in return for an honest and unbiased review*

Save That Expensive Wine
For those of us who finish the bottle and rarely re-cork, this is a luxury item. However, it works great. Place the rubber cork in the bottle neck ( two included) and use the pump to expel the air from the bottle, making it airtight for freshness. Use it to open the bottle for the future. It’s a clean looking and very useful tool that makes for a great gift. This is particularly great if you have a special bottle of expensive wine and want to save some for the future (no more than a few days). This is one of the lesser expensive bottle corkers and can save you a bunch of money by keeping wine fresh in the bottle. Product supplied for review.

Now we can open that special bottle without waiting for company!
We're certainly not big drinkers, but do enjoy a glass of wine now and then, especially while entertaining. There are a few extra-special bottles that we purchased while on vacation that aren't just good -- they have sentimental value, and we'd like to continue to enjoy them at a later date. This Victoria Design Wine Saver Vacuum Pump was the perfect solution to that problem. It was easy to use, and now we feel free to open that special bottle without a house full of company to justify it! Beautiful packaging would also make this an excellent gift for friends and neighbors. Happily, we received a sample for review. Excellent product!

Pump doesn't work at all
I've used a number of wine pumps over the years, not only for wine but also for my homemade fruit liquors that go bad very quickly when exposed to the air. Usually, there isn't much variety in how they function. You put the cork on the top, you pump the air out, and you are done. Unfortunately, this pump doesn't work at all! While the corks seem high quality and fit my bottles easily, the pump did absolutely nothing and I could not get any kind of suction going on my bottles. Really disappointing. I received a sample for review, but obviously the negative opinion is my own.
