Nice large size and works well. I am able to pound the back of the handle with a mallet which makes work easier.

Purchased to carve cherry wood spoons, so far over 30 given away as gifts for family. BeaverCraft always adding tutorials to their website.

The quality and sharpness seemed very good on initial usage. After several uses on some walnut pieces it dulled more quickly than anticipated. Also had some rollover on the cutting edge. I would say for softer woods it his piece would be excellent but for harder or cross grain work it was not durable in my opinion. It is still good value for money in many applications.

This carving gouge is excellent! The blade is sharp and well-made, cutting through wood smoothly without catching or slipping. The handle feels comfortable and provides a good grip, making it easy to control. Definitely a high-quality tool for anyone into wood carving. Highly recommend!

Out of the box the brass piece is loose and slipping up and down.

Well made, solid tool. Comfortable to work with. Sharp right out of the box, but you should strop it first for best performance.

Excellent quality and carves easily, nice and sharp. Bigger than expected with long handle but it's the go too tool at the minute for carving spoons.

Strong, sharp and well made. I read a lot of reviews on different carving tools and settled on this one. Well worth the price. Started using it to carve a kuksa in a piece of burl mountain ash as soon as I got it. Works great. Holds an edge and sharpens easily. If starting out I would recommend this tool. I definitely enjoy using it.
