Excellent picture quality and brightness!
i'm currently on the road and i hate watching the terrible hotel tvs. So i purchased the mars 2 pro after lots of excellent reviews. I needed something portable with great speakers. All i can say is WOW. This projector is absolutely amazing for what it can do. I thought i would be disappointed with 720p, but it really isn't that bad. Sure 1080p is much clearer, but there are really no portable 1080p projectors with speakers like this. I thought about the xgimi h2, but it's much larger and also significantly more expensive. Ive been using it for the past 2 days and it's great! The only issues I've had with it are as follows: -the mounting hole is way too shallow. I ordered a NEEWER tripod so I can angle the projector to the ceiling, but the tripod mount wouldn't sit flush against the projector. I had to shim some paper in between. Not ideal. -i wish there was more keystoning options. Its a little awkward to get it project onto the ceiling (but maybe all projectors are like this) -unfortunately I had to give it only 2 stars since my projector's LED charging lights were working. It seemed to be charging based off of the charge icon, but the LED lights would NOT come on. I tried it w/o it plugged in, with it plugged in, pushing buttons. Nothing. I'm getting a replacement sent to me from amazon. Hopefully this resolves it. Not sure if I just got a dud? I would gladly upgrade to 5 stars once I get a replacement that works 100% correctly and a tripod that fits! Will update once I get the new one. UPDATE 9/15/2019: Wow! Anker customer service is one of the best I’ve ever used. Usually you expect days to weeks until you hear back from them. There’s always a pit in your stomach thinking if customer support was gonna even get back to you. Not anker! My customer support lady was Sharon. She was amazing. She saw that I returned my original unit since the LED charge lights weren’t working. She also updated me on my projector stand issue and sent me an anker tripod! It works way better than any of the other tripods I ordered. The unit works flawlessly and even impressed my very skeptical wife. Watched a movie on the ceiling and she was sold. I watched a Disney movie without any issues in my sons room. He loved it! The brightness is insane! I mean I have mint tried it out in the light, but let’s be real, this projector is meant for darker rooms and nighttime/outdoor projection. I wish I could turn down the brightness in certain situations. I’m so happy with this projector. I almost bought an optoma or benq cause I wanted the best picture quality. But the convenience of having a great and capable speaker system built in with Netflix and Plex is way better than some of the nicer and pricier projectors. This is truly portable and excellent at what it does. 5 stars!

Great backyard projector
We bought this to do backyard movies and television. We live in a garden home neighborhood, which means we're close to our neighbors and their lights and have plenty of streetlights and other light pollution. Even with all that, once the sun sets, this projector does a fabulous job. We often have the fire pit going or the lights on in the gazebo, and there's still a great clear picture. The only time you really need a truly dark environment is with shows or movies that have a very dark ambience-- for some episodes of the Mandalorian, for example, we needed to kill the gazebo lights to see it well. Finding Nemo did not need such considerations. We do typically run the projector in the brighter mode since we have the ability to run power to it in our backyard. We have tested it on battery power and got about 2 hours of viewing. Even on battery power, there's plenty of brightness in the picture if you're using it after dark. I highly recommend setting up all your accounts in the projector ahead of time. It makes it SO much easier to deal with logging into all the accounts and typing in your passwords if you're just shining it on the wall in your living room the night before movie night instead of trying to set everything up while everyone stares at you! Some of those apps are a pain to navigate, and there's a bit of a learning curve to using the remote and/or phone app. You get used to it, but it takes a minute. Our setup: We project onto a projector screen (just the 100" Amazon Basic one)-- we attached projector screen mounting brackets with to our house under the eaves and attached a set of carabiners rated for 75 pounds (extreme overkill) on each end of the projector screen. My husband can pull the screen out from the storage closet and clip the it onto the hooks in the mounting brackets in less than a minute. We have a set of ground anchors near the wall, and we use two bungee cords (I used a pair of pliers to widen the hooks a bit) so that they loop around the bottom ends of the projector screen and then connect to the anchors. They're long enough that they only have a tiny bit of tension on the screen-- just enough to keep the screen from blowing, twisting, and kinking if there's a breeze. When we're not using the screen, we disconnect the bungees and roll it up, where it's safely tucked away under the eaves. We leave it up during good weather but can easily unhook it and put it away if rain threatens. We paired our projector with a cheap tripod from Walmart and a couple orange traffic cones from Home Depot so that the kids don't run into the tripod in the dark. Like some others have commented, the tripod mounting hole is a little shallow, so it can make the projector feel unstable on a tripod mount. Thanks to those commenters, I anticipated having the same problem and was armed with supplies to solve it. We bought a couple neoprene washers from Home Depot and placed them between the projector and the tripod mount. That made it a snug fit and eliminated any wobble. We leave the tripod mount attached all the time and just store the whole unit in its bag. (It does NOT come with any kind of storage bag, by the way-- we ordered the Anker one off Amazon because I disliked having to put it back in the cardboard box each time we used it.) We often sit back a good ways from the projector, and while the built-in sound is fine for me, my husband is kind of hard of hearing. We pair the projector via Bluetooth with an Anker Soundcore Flare 2 speaker we already owned and sit the speaker right next to us. They play together fabulously. There's no sound lag at all, at least none I can discern. We did discover that it helps to turn the speaker on a few seconds before turning the projector on. They pair quicker and more easily when the speaker is turned on first. And as we already have an actual bluetooth speaker, we've never really tried to use our projector as a bluetooth speaker. The Soundcore Flare 2 is a lot cheaper and more durable if my kids get a little too crazy with their elementary dance parties. We've had this thing for going on three months and love it. I did a lot of research and agonized over which portable projector to buy, and I'm really happy with the choice I made for my family. If that changes, I'll update this review, but I don't suspect I'll need to.

Battery life not up to expectation, but everything else seems good so far!
Bought it during a sale last year and I find the price to quality ratio good. This is the first projector I own so wasn't too sure what to expect, but here are my thoughts: Dislike: 1. After using the projector for about a month, the only "complaint" I have is the battery life. Not sure if I had received a unit which had been sitting in storage for too long, but the battery seems to drain itself even when not in use. I will charge it to full the night before and by the following morning the battery will be drained, even though the projector was SWITCHED OFF. This isn't really an issue for me though since I only intend to use it indoor, but for those considering outdoor use, you might want to opt for newer models since they are less likely to be sitting in storage for long, which could affect battery lifespan. Like: On the flip side, there are more things to like about this projector... 1. I like how the picture turned out; definitely not as sharp as 4k TV but I like the sort of slightly grainy feel that you see at movie theaters. And it is way less glaring than LCD or LED TVs 2. The built-in speakers are more than loud enough for indoor viewing and I haven't had to turn it up to more than 75% of the maximum volume. Still considering whether to get a sound bar but so far haven't seen the need to do so. 3. Customer service is where I was really impressed by the Anker brand!! I had bought many other things online before and there were times when I sent emails to enquire about things I'm unsure of, and the replies I got were generally useless. When I email-ed Anker to request for the code to enable Google services, I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised when they replied within a day, and upon verifying my purchase of the projector, I received the code from them. I didn't reply their email after receiving the code as my excitement got the better of me and a few days later I actually received a follow-up email from the Anker team to ask if I was able to enable Google services and whether I needed any additional assistance! Really amazing experience :D Hopefully the projector is able to last for at least a few years. Will be back to edit review if any.

White dots after 3 months
Updating this review. Purchased this item in April 2020, started experiencing issues 3 months after (the seller did offer to replace the item however life happened and I ran out of time to send it back. Ive been stuck with it since. Dropping the rating from 2 to 1 star since this product failed to hold up beyond 30 months from the purchase data. Cons: 1. Lived with 1 white dot towards the top of the screen 2. Projection would lose focus after steaming for sometime, moving it or toggling the auto focus option would resolve this 3. The OS is outdate and will not support most apps as of 2022 4. The remote stinks, it will not work unless its pointed directly to the rear of the projector making it impossible to mount it on a wall behind you 5. Since it does not have a zoom function, the projector will most likely remain in fort of your seating area making is a bit of bother depending on your housing situation. 6. Here we are now October 2022- there are not several additional white dots on the screen making it unpleasant to use . 7. Battery life is not under 30 minutes without streaming - simply turned on and left it on the home screen Pros: 1. Sound quality is still as amazing as day 1 2. Aside form the white dots, the image quality is still great 3. Since the remote stinks- I used the nebula mobile app which now flaunts a lot of improvements 4. Served its purpose for a digital nomad life style. If your not constantly traveling or concerned about relocation each year then just purchase a 4K TV (Original review below) Great quality and sound- top notch No distance adjustments- this sucks Remote it simple but stopped working after a while even after replacing the batteries. Beware of white dots after 3months. Dots will appear and disappear beyond the 90days of usage and you're stuck with it.

Exactly what you think it is.
This portable protector is exactly what you expect it to be based on the purpose and specs. Set at its brighter Normal setting, it’s bright enough to show a very decent image in a moderately-lit room IN SMALLER SCREEN SIZES (closer to the screen or wall), and even its middle-ground size capability. This also depends on where the light source is. I just got mine and I’m watching The Office from my iPad (HDMI connection) with the ceiling light on the medium setting and my small nightstand lamp on as well. Plenty of light in the room to do things while I watch. I suppose a lot of your satisfaction here will depend on expectations. I’m using this protector for its battery-powered portable capability for in-person group events in a moderately-lit to dark room. Events are an hour or less, so I can use the battery on the brightest setting and should have enough time. Based on what I’m seeing in my room, even with some lights on in the room, we can see the image just fine. When darker, even better. I have another light located near the wall we tested on, and with that specific lamp on we couldn’t see the image. With that lamp OFF and the others on (ceiling light about 6 feet from the wall image, and bed lamp about 10 feet away. This projector will do just fine in a moderately lit environment so long as the light source(s) aren’t in the wrong place—at a roughly 40” screen size (that’s all I need for this purpose). When home, we’ll project a larger screen size and still be okay. Sound is very good, playing videos and images from USB is perfect (straightforward, little delay moving from one image to the next). So far, so good! If you don’t need portability or have very bright situations, it won’t be a good choice. I have no intention of using the built-in apps, so this part of the product doesn’t matter to me. If anything I’m doing that I’ve shared here is similar to your use, you should be good to go. Great little projector! (Will update review after using more.)

Terrific!
Really wonderful, all-in-one package for super easy back yard cinema. My screen is 150" diagonally and the picture looks fantastic at that scale. Based on the feedback in other reviews I did also spring for the Anker tripod. The leg design is a little clunky but it gets the job done just fine. When I first tested it, I found that a fully-charged battery *almost* got me all the way through a feature-length movie--this included streaming the video via WiFi as well as audio to an auxiliary speaker. To be on the safe side, when I have friends over for a socially-distanced movie night I make sure it's plugged in so we can keep it on indefinitely. So much fun to hang out and talk afterward in the light of footage of aquarium fish or sunny beaches, from ambiance videos on YouTube... I love that the projector auto-adjusts the picture when it moves so I don't have to fiddle with it at all. I haven't used the remote control included with the projector because controlling the device through the app on my smart phone is so easy. A surprising number of apps are built in. Major video streaming sources are highlighted but there are a ton of games and stuff as well. A few sources of movies that are not represented in the app catalog (HBO ToGo, Criterion Collection) and, believe it or not, I even needed to project a Zoom meeting once upon a time--might be time to include that in the software, too. I connected my laptop to the projector via HDMI cable and was able to make it work that way. Audio is sufficient. I live on a neighborhood arterial street so there is always some traffic in the street in front of the house, that we can hear in the back yard. The speakers stand up to that just fine. I've also experimented with connecting the projector to a bluetooth speaker and making it WAY louder, if needed. Couldn't be easier to pick up the projector/tripod with the handle on top and take it out to the yard. I'm completely happy with this purchase! When backyard movie weather is over, I expect to use it to help me project images onto canvases to prepare for painting, and sometimes it's fun to have massive aquarium fish swimming on the ceiling, too!!

UPDATED: Great Service...Love the Unit
Overall, this is a really great product. However, it has real difficulty connecting to 5ghz wifi signals. It has a hard to locating the 5g network and when it finally does, it's great...until it drops the signal. It does recognize the 2g wifi signals but it will only work for about 20 minutes and then it drops the signal and won't reconnect till I reset the projector. Other than that, I like the picture quality and the brightness. Not like a larger projector, but for it's size, it's really great. What I really LOVE LOVE is that it runs on battery. I don't have to plug it in...can take it anywhere and play. That's a great feature. But, in the end, if it can't stay connected to wifi, it's not going to work. It drops right in the middle of work projects and movies and spoils the moment because we can't get it going again without a reset. I just downloaded the latest software update, but same issue is happening so they haven't resolved it yet. UPDATED 7-22-20: Based on my review, Anker reached out to me (I didn't even have to call them) and asked if they could help. We tried a few things and then they offered to replace my unit when those attempts didn't work. They paid shipping both ways and I had a new unit in about a week. I've been using the new unit and the old wi-fi issues are gone and everything is working great. I'm so excited and this organization has TOP NOTCH customer service! Even when I didn't respond to them for a few days because I was busy they reached out again to check on me. It really was outstanding and I can fully recommend this product and the company. They stand behind their quality and they wanted me to be fully and 100% happy with the product.

This projector is amazing, fun, and is definitely worth the money!
After a bit of research (ok, a very small bit), I ordered this projector. It arrived quickly, and I had it configured and up and running withing 20 minutes. Very easy. The remote control is nice, but the phone app is the way to go, for sure! In fact, some of the apps will warn you that they don't work with the remote (they don't, btw). I was able to install Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix with little difficulty (Disney+ was hidden in a "helper" app, but, once installed, appears next to all my other apps). The only missing piece was Vudu. That's where Anker support stepped into the picture. They were responsive and helpful and assisted me in "side loading" Vudu! I can now access my Vudu library! Regarding picture, sound, etc - I've been very impressed. The built-in speakers are quite good, although I have a portable bluetooth speaker that I easily connected for some deeper bass. The picture is good, in my opinion (I am not an expert, and didn't have unrealistic expectations). I have projected onto an outdoor inflatable screen at night, the pull-down shade in my bedroom with the lights off, onto a $50 cloth screen outdoors at night, and onto a beige wall in my office with the lights on. The best thing I can say about the brightness is that at night outdoors and inside with the lights off, it's perfect. Indoors with the lights on - could be better, but who watches a movie in those conditions? Overall, the portability, all-in-one functionality and the quality of the product and support FAR outweigh any downside in sound or picture. Highly recommend!
