Columbia Men's Brewha II Shorts

If these shorts were the correct size I would be wearing them today. I normally wear a 2xl but these 2xl shorts were too small around the waist for me to wear. And 2xl is the largest size they apparently make.

After searching high and low for some good fitting shorts, i found these beauties. For reference sake, I'm 5' 9" 190 lbs with an athletic build, (large posterior) especially hams and quads. Finding comfortable shorts has always been an extremely tough quest, but I can honestly say with good conscious that these are the most comfortable shorts that I have ever owned! I typically prefer my shorts to be "shorter" 6-7 inches is usually the sweet spot for me and these fall right in that category. I currently own one pair but i plan on buying every color available!

These are very comfortable shorts in a nice range of colors: less boring than the standard khaki's, but not comic book bright. Breathable fabric with nice napped cottony feeling hand. On me they were just shorter than the average Bermuda, but no where near getting into Bjorn Borg era tennis short range. Definitely more breathable and quicker drying than the typical canvas/cotton cargo shorts, but don't feel like swimming trunks either. The pockets are deep - but not sealed - and the lightweight fabric telegraphs the outline of whatever you put in them. (Ie - you'll see the rectangular outline of an iPhone pretty plainly)While I think they fit great at the waist (and I'm in that classic 38' below the "gut", 40 inch above (till my wishful thinking diet kicks in) stage), they flare out toward the bottom - as you can see in the illustration. Which gives great range of leg movement while hiking, but perhaps not the slimmest/most flattering of cut at the bar. Not really sure what the small para-cord loops are on the front pockets: they seem redundant as tabs to open and close pockets, but poorly placed to actually hang anything off.( And they do catch on things like kitchen cabinet knobs). Its a distinctive design to be sure though, even if it pushes the short to the casual end of the spectrum.

Good shorts , durable ,but could use more colors .
