PaddywaxCandles HY0501 Hygge Collection Scented Candle, 5-Ounce, Vetiver + Cardamom

On paper, this combination sounds like it will produce a very weird smell but in my humble opinion this is, in a word, perfect!The sweet vanilla is tempered and softened by the smoky tobacco scent. The tobacco part of the equation is a smoky, woody, pipy, ‘raw’ cigar, homely fragrance, but of course closer to the smell before it is lit and being smoked. Definitely no cigarette smell! I love this combination (I also love the linen and cotton type fragrances), vaguely reminiscent of my Uncle’s pipe when I was little.First bought this in the US, happy to find it on Amazon although it is a little on the pricy side, but for me this beats any other candle from the expensive shops and would make a perfect gift for someone who’s less keen on the floral scents. Beware pale imitations, by the way, Paddywax appear to have nailed it!

Candle smells lovely and keeps it smell for a long time. Good product.

I find it very difficult to find scented candles that smell natural. Most I find to be either a synthetic smell like loo cleaner or very sickly sweet. This candle cardamom and vetiver (whatever vetiver is) smells lovely with the added bonus of an attractive container that you can repurpose. Well done Paddywax, great product.

Have bought this candle before so know the smell is lovely and looks nice. However I bought this as a last minute gift and on opening the box the candle pot is chipped. I have no choice but to give this gift damaged as I don't have to time to return it and get a new one. Really disappointed. This must have been damaged before it was packed as it was in bubble wrap and an undamaged Amazon box. Not good enough that someone thought it okay to send out to me damaged.

It's too wide for the single wick. I had to put foil around it to get it to full melt the top on first burn. Not the end of the world but that's where the strong scent works against you. It was too much. However it comes in a lovely pot jar and copper effect metal lid. If it wasn't for the wick versus diameter issue it would be 5 stars.

I discovered this candle one day at Barnes & Noble and fell in love with the scent but was not a big fan of the “pinky promise” design. I was happy to find the same scent here on Amazon with a solid color ceramic. My husband doesn’t like scented candles so I was surprised to see that had lit it the other day.we found one we both like. I was going to order another today but it is unavailable. I hope it comes back into stock!

I love this candle. It smells amazing and lasts a loooong time. I burn it all the time and only have to buy around 3 per year. I hope they keep making them. After the candle is gone I drill a few holes in the bottom and make it into a little planter.

This is my favorite candle and I always buy another one every time I see it on my Amazon. Burns forever and the sent is strong enough to fill an entire room with the beautiful sent. Great house smell for all rooms.

First Impression:This is a very nice, strong, and relaxing fragrant candle. The candle holder is a little on the girly side, and doesn't go well with much home decor, but, that is probably its biggest downside. The fragrance is exactly like what you would expect if assuming the name would reflect the smell. The Patchouli was very strong, but well balanced with the rose scent.FRAGRANCE:This candle has heavy undertones Rose, with robust, earthy Patchouli scent that carries well throughout the entire room. The scent itself is wonderful, but it is a strong fragrance that lingers. It would be best suited to be burned in large rooms with plenty of airflow. The throw throw is phenomenal, and neither the Patchouli nor the Rose are over-powering of the other, resulting a two fragrances which truly compliment one another.Final Assessment:I wish this candle was packaged in a more versatile candle holder, but it's not a deal-breaker as everything else makes up for the packaging. I have purchased this candle multiple times, and will continue to purchase more in the future.
