Love that it has two different UV sources. Different stains fluoresce at different wavelengths, as well as different fabrics and surfaces reflecting different wavelengths. Sometimes using ~400nm causes too much violet reflection to provide the necessary contrast to see a stain. Switching to the 365nm source removes the violet/purple reflection and provides much higher contrast. Also, the button and battery connections seem to be solid, but time will tell. My last "cheap" UV flashlight had simple coil spring terminals and made very intermittent contact. This uses a nice gold-plated, spring loaded button. Finally, the zoom feature is awesome, you can project a relatively small (and bright) UV spot on a surface across the room, or go wide and cover the entire area around you on the floor. The only negative is that since there are two sources, the spot for each source moves a bit (several degrees) when zoomed all the way in, but it's easy to compensate for.

Ok I researched different black lights. If you're using this for CAT or DOG urine detecting this is the one to get. It has 2 different wave lengths, so cat urine shows up better on one wavelength and Dog on the other. Human urine/pee seems to show up on both with one a little brighter. We have both pets and let a stray cat into the house to get them acquainted and didn't work out so well, but he left his mark around the house. Shockingly we have a young male child in the household so it was shocking to see around toilet which objects it detects in human urine spray he has been off target on. So great to get that cleaned up. Light has held up and no other issues. Very pleased with purchase.

The flashlight is sturdy, all metal and comfortable to hold. It has telescopic focus and two wavelengths ranges as described. To switch just push the power button lightly (do not click). Fits a pocket and great for travel. In a dark room will show/glow biologic fluids and organic matter like pet and human urine, shedded skin and hair, blood, saliva, semen, Blaschko's lines on the skin etc. Also invisible ink, markings on banknotes, spilled oils and antifreeze, fluorescent materials, scorpions and other insects, stains and cracks on minerals and gems, fluorescent plants and much more. Lots of fun with this light!! The darker is the room, the better is the visualization. The light came with a set of batteries and a wrist strap. Well Made in China.

Absolutely awesome little flash light! Super powerful and the zoom capability allows for an extremely far and tight beam throw. This powerhouse can light up a scorpion on the 365nm setting from 50-60 feet away no problem. The zoom is easy to function with one hand and to switch between modes just click the light off then on again. I would Absolutely recommend the darkbeam if you're looking for a powerful dual 365nm/395nm UV flashlight. High quality and great price point.

When I was a kid you needed a car battery to power the UV light. I can only imagine mineral collecting in Franklin, NY with this flashlight.

it is a compact light with high functionality it zooms in for a brighter focused area. the design and weight are amzing quality. and recharges fast.

Love the company but this product ain’t it. They sell a pair of mini ones that are two separate flashlights and they are amazing! Grab those!

The DARKBEAM I ordered was the two-in-one 365nm and 395nm. The quality, at least of the writing of this review, is really good, especially for the amount I paid for it. The housing itself is pretty study, and becoming a standard, it seems - I've seen a few other torches, UV and not, that have the same one. Not a big issue though, it's good quality. This torch is BRIGHT. It may be common sense, but definitely do not let the beam go near any person's eyes, I'd definitely recommend UV protection glasses if you're using it for sustained periods of time. If you're just looking to find pet stains or whatever though, you'll probably be fine without one. The zoom function is overall very useful, though with the sheer brightness of the beam, I doubt you'll need to use it too often. Using the wider range beam is probably more useful for detection of fluids and stains etc. In conclusion, I found it's worth every cent of what I paid for it, but do be warned this isn't a dinky little torch. It's a tool, and should be respected.

Super well built flashlight,strong uv 365 and 395 but I wish they could be both on at the same time as a separate setting. You can only use one light at a time. Overall great for mineral hunting and uv glass Id as it picks up lead glass too

I had to reorder the product as the previous one was lost in transit. Quality is OK, but price is just too much, waiting time for delivery is also too much, The 395nm led torch doesnt work most of the times, the light is also too weak. Not value for money.
