Great fit, nice tone!
I love these girls. They feel and sound amazing. I highly enjoy the flared heel for more stability and a more resonant sound. These took some getting used to after having your traditional character taps with a 1.5 inch heel. I am 5'2" and I have tiny baby feet (5.5). Having this high of a heel is definitely a challange. I taught tap in them and I won't like, after 3 consecutive 45 minute classes, I was feeling it.I don't recommend these for hours and hours of teaching and rehearsing but they are sexy and sound awesome. Definitely a great show shoe!

Classic Tap Shoes, Good Quality, Rubber Metatarsal Plate
This is a VERY nice shoe! They are my third pair of Capezio tap shoes that I have owned. You cannot beat the price point. I ordered as I have grown up with the brand, I like the fit, and they seem to last a long time. There are improvements in the leather of the shoe and the arch support. I think they look very good on the foot. I ordered a 10 and my street shoe size is 9.5 to 10. I have not tried them with a sock or tights yet, but I anticipate they will be a really close fit, so I am on the fence as to what to advise as they don’t feel like they will loosen too much. A 10.5 would be too long. Go with your US shoe size and not old Capezio dance shoe sizes (e.g, my old shoes in what I guess is a foot light junior model are an 8). These have rubber on the bottom. I did not notice this and I find this incredibly annoying, but they all have this unless you customize the non-tap version of this with taps.Update: I gave these a 5-star in the end. After tapping non-stop for the last 3 days, they have loosened and feel excellent. I can wear a tight, or a thin sock and even a thin wool sock with them and the latter has really helped my feet warm up and mold the shoe. The heel cup has a little dig, but this was the case on my other capezios. I am softening them by pressing on them with each heel as I put them on and off and this helps. What is great about these are the linings. Gone are those curling footbeds of yesteryear!

A few tips
Get a size up. No joke. But if you get a smaller size by accident, you can expand them by putting thick socks on and then running a hairdryer over the tight spots. Keep wearing them until they are completely cooled. I did this and, yes it was quite painful, but it worked. You need to do it over a few days so that the shape will be maintained, but they are nice shoes. The taps can be quiet if you are a beginning tapper. The rubber on the bottom of the shoe is thicker than the tap, so if you aren't good at really isolating those ankle muscles, you might want to file down the rubber to where it and the tap are flush. You don't want to take the rubber off though because it will cause your foot to stand in a painful way--your toe would be higher than the ball of your foot.Very nice shoes. Good style.

Fit well right out of the box!
Hasn't danced in years and granddaughters wanted ri learn si thought Is better get my own as my old ones they play with don't fit. These fit well right out of the box. I was amazed. Didn't take long for old rhythms to start coming back to my feet. Excellent sound quality. Now if my old ENERGY would come in a box, too!

Extremely happy
I was a bit hesitant to order these shoes after reading other reviews, but I'm glad I did. These shoes fit me very well, and I have four other pairs of tap shoes to compare them to. I find them easy to dance in and comfortable for and hour or so, although I expect them to feel even better as they break in. I did start with 20-30 minute sessions the first few times to break them in. I don't pull the strap tight, so I don't have the issue of it pulling the shoe up across my foot that others complained about. These shoes fit so well on my foot that the strap is almost unnecessary and can be just lightly fastened.

Fit Perfectly!
I wear an 8 1/2, sometimes a 9. I ordered an 8 1/2. These fit perfectly! They are a bit of a platform, more solid than previous character/ballroom-style tap shoes I have owned in past years. Much better quality Capezio than I recall in the nineteen eighties. These are solid, top quality. I am ecstatic! I am breaking these in w/o socks. We'll see. Likely that will stretch out the leather some. Perhaps thin socks to start. I love these shoes!

Ehh
It is so difficult to find comfortable attractive Tap shoes. I have searched high and low, all over the internet. The problem seem to be 1. they always run too small --why is that? Why cant they make the sizes like all the other shoes in the world? 2. Most every style is UGLY. 3. there are only 2-3 color choices, black, gross beige and nauseating old mannequin beige. 4. They are either cheaply made and expensive, moderately made and expensive or well made, still ugly and expensive as all get out.I ordered three pairs of these. The first pair had a cut in the leather. The next two have odd places on each foot where the fit pinches, but I settled for the larger size as I needed something before class was over.I have had a identical pair (same brand) I bought years ago for ballroom dancing and those are like slippers. I will probably save these for outside performances and continue my search.

Perfect fit
Although my shoe size is 7.5 Medium/B/Regular; I purchased 9.5 wide to get a perfect fit. This is a standard for me since American footwear manufacturers moved to foreign nations.

Gorgeous and Great Sounding
Normally can't get Capezio products from anyone other than a Capezio dealer or directly from Capezio. Our local dealer would not order the Manhatten with Taps attached for me and it's a hassle to order from Capezio get it shipped to a friend in the states then mailed to me.Manhatten Tap shoes are beautiful and comfortable, my favourite character style shoe! Capezio tele-tone taps are attached. Great looking, great sounding shoe! Perfect for a performance that requires a more feminine shoe to finish off the look.

Fits small for size.
The back of the shoe comes up over the heel of the foot higher than the usual shoe, I had immediate irritation to the skin

Make sure to check size carefully!!
I ordered a size 8. Got 8 wide. Shoes are too large and difficult to tap in. The strap is also difficult to use

Súper taps!
Lo único que tengo que hacer es una perforación en la correa para que me ajusten correctamente. Lo demás está Muy Bien!
