It was in better condition than I expected.
I thought it was a used book. I think it was new or barely used. It is in better condition than the one I borrowed from the library. I would recommend this vendor.

Not as much information as I wanted
This book has some good beginner information in it to get you started but I found a lot more information online that was way more helpful. It feels incomplete in its information. And a lot of the projects feel redundant in their skills (a lot of stitching in the ditch quilting!) I would rather learn more about different quilting styles and techniques rather than practice stitching in the ditch over and over again for different projects. When they do introduce hand quilting, they don't really give you a lot of tips on how to do it. The projects are step by step and numbered, but upon closer inspection, each "step" actually involves multiple steps so I found it hard to keep track of where I was in the process. Also, I found the measurements to be off for a couple of the projects. Maybe I did it wrong, but I thought I followed it precisely. The directions were confusing at times. This book did give me a place to get started and gave me some project ideas, but it wasn't the complete beginners guide I was looking for.

Pass on this book
This book is so inconsistent in its information. It's more of a beginner sewer's book, starts out by showing you how to thread a sewing machine--not necessary because an owner's manual will tell you that. It doesn't really lead you from step one to finish in a consistent, logical step. At one point, they show you quilting the top but don't explain how you come to choose a design or anything else about the actual quilting other than trace a template design and sew. (pg. 79 )The binding is shown as one type and doesn't even mention the mitered corner type. Should have been some illustration on the grains of the fabric, instead of the sewing machine stuff. Then it tells you "stitch in the ditch". Ok, I happen to know what that means but if you don't, forget it, it doesn't explain it.I am new to quilting, but not sewing and I found this book to be pretty useless. Very disappointed. I learn more on you tube videos. The pictures are pretty but I think it's just inconsistent and there aren't detailed instructions on the actual piecing.

Poor publishing
Wish I would of looked at these reviews before purchasing 1/2 the book was upside down as well. Terrible book.

Don't get this.
No way is this a book for beginners. I had to buy another book (Quilting for Dummies) to get some essential information. Let this one pass by!
