Very pleased with this purchase. Have used it for about a week. Works great for individual electronic items that warrant reliable surge protection (washing machine, microwave, fridge, etc) but where it doesn't make sense to spend $30 or have 6 outlets for a power strip style surge protector.Reasonable dimensions, solid feeling construction, and LED to show that it's protecting. I like it because I can travel and sleep with assurance through thunderstorms without having to worry about if I unplugged items. Even if it fails to protect, it offers a warranty to cover what was plugged in.The only downside is that it does not include an alarm to alert you that the item has been hit with a surge and may have tripped (i.e. cutting power to your fridge and potentially losing groceries... this is something I'd want to be made aware of in the middle of the night or upon returning home.)Overall very happy.

We purchased a new washing machine a few years ago. The newer washing machines have a lot of electronics in them, so I wanted something to protect against an electricity surge. So far, this product seems to working great. I only wanted to protect one item, so the one outlet feature was a great feature for my needs and the price was right.

Used one to protect a NordicTrak treadmill and another to protect a NordicTrak cycle. Working well after six months and a couple of power outages.

Can't protect from a brown out or outage, like a UPS power and surge protector and I have UPS's on my entertainment systems and computers. They never last forever, as a hard surge or spike will sacrifice them sometimes and you need to check once after each surge to see it they are still in working condition to allow protection of your electronics. This one is on the chargers for my kindle, Bluetooth ear buds and head phones.

This keeps the prongs near the top so most plugs will still fit in the upper socket when this is plugged into the lower. The LED was a bit too dim but it should work as an indicator - It was off when I first plugged this in, in my workshop. I opened the terminal box and found the ground wire had come loose. So the indicator already saved me from a potential shock hazard. I had a massive voltage surge last week that burned out 6 of my 9 surge suppressors in my small Florida home. It was from a defect in the buried power supply cable - I lost one appliance but my neighbor lost several and had wires burn up in her walls. This is proof to me that suppressors are worth the investment so I just bought 6 more from Amazon. Spread them around your home - they have a cumulative effect of protection for the whole home. These are expendable devices that burn up internally to save your wiring and devices.

Small and fits a 2 outlets bottom socket while having enough room to use the top socket. I;m using this under my kitchen sink in order to plug my dishwasher while the other socket is used for the garbage disposal and is linked to a switch. This device is easy to use. Just plug it in and plug the appliance or electronic you would like to protect against surge. It is rated for 900 Joules which should suffice for most equipment connected. I decided to add a power surge as we have some lights dimming while the AC is kicking and I read it may damage equipment. Time will tell how it performs.

Purchased two of these, one for my parents 'over the range' microwave, as well as added protection for my iMac.We did need to turn the electrical socket around 180 degrees when installing for the over the range microwave, because the socket itself didn't have enough space below to fit this surge protector (outlet is in the cabinet above and was fairly close to the shelf). It was an atypical situation, but you do need about 1-3/4" clearance below the socket itself (not the plate, just the socket you plug into). With the main power off, we rotated the outlet receptacle, turned the main power back on and plugged in the surge protector upside down.My parent's do have whole house surge protection, but this gives added security, especially for expensive appliances that have time consuming installations!

Our microwave was having surges that caused circuits to burn out creating service calls. The electrician found no issues with our wiring but suggested a surge protector.
