Do it! '97TJ 2.5L
I got this on whim to evaluate the ability to get some torque back as several have posted. This is used in conjunction with a cold air intake.I definitely noticed more torque, especially at low RMP under 1500. If fact its pretty noticeable: whereas before I'd have to get the revs up to about 1500 before pulling out from a light on a slight uphill, now I just get the revs over idle and the Jeep moves of great. On the highway I'd say that there is a little more power - its hard to say how much but its noticeable. On an old 2.5L, any gain is appreciated!I think I am seeing a small gain in mileage but not huge since I am running 411 stock gearing with 32's and a 3" lift. The intake now makes a nice induction noise which is kind of cool. I'm not sure how this would impact engine life and durability, but my guess is that it will only help. The spacer improves the mixture at the intake, which one would think leads to more even combustion from cylinder to cylinder. I would also guess that emissions performance is improved as well since the spacer will increase combustion efficiency. The install is extremely easy. Remove 4-bolts, clean off old gasket, place on spacer and gaskets, install 4 new bolts. The cable spacers were not needed on my install. Its also very easy to uninstall as well in case you only want to use this when wheeling.Overall, I am very happy with the performance, price and ease of install. I didn't have to make any mods my my rig to install it and thats always a plus.

Easy Install, Possible Gains
So, I can't accurately review any MPG, power, or smoothness gains, as I installed this at the same time I did a long overdue set of plugs, wires, and a distributor cap and rotor. I also cleaned the throttle body and IACV while installing. But, installation was extremely easy, and after this ROUND OF MAINTENANCE, idle smoothed out a bit, throttle response is smoother and a bit better, and I gained a substantial amount of MPG. On a 3 inch lift with 31s, stock gears, and AN EXTREMELY WORN SET OF SPARK PLUGS AND A CARBON FILLED THROTTLE BODY, I went from averaging 13mpg to averaging 19 on my commute, which is mostly highway.Again, I cannot stress enough that I do not know what can be attributed to this product and what can be attributed to the overdue maintenance. But it looks good, and makes it sound cool when you push the pedal all the way. And at the very least, it gave me a reason to clean my TB.

Kind of worth it.
Easy to bolt on, definitely feel some throttle response difference, but I haven't had it on long enough to see the mpg difference. I have an 01 xj with the 4.0 stock height and flow master super 40 with 2.5 inch cat back exhaust.. stock intake. But I feel if you have an aftermarket intake, you would probably feel the extra difference this thing does. If not, it's still a cheap, durable part that at least looks fancy for your mall crawler.

Great purchase!!
Well packaged. Nice quality. I installed a similar item about 20 years ago on a HEMI. Very pleased. Mild gains, but Gain is Gain. Went with Rough Country because I’ve been well pleased with the lift on my Jeep. Will definitely look for additional items for my Jeep and other vehicles.

Install is difficult on 2.5L TJ.
Not an easy install on 2.5 L TJ.Spacer is very easy to install. Recommend cleaning the throttle body and sensors while you have it disassembled. However, lifting the throttle cable brace (see picture) is not possible without modifying the brace. The brace on a 2000 TJ with 2.5L contacts the fuel rail. Had to cut the part of the brace that extended beneath the fuel rail. This means I can only use 2 of the three spacers and only have two mount points. This being perpendicular to the throttle cable is not ideal, but it is very solid with only two bolts. The bracket modification is a 3/5 on my difficulty level. Requires you to be able to secure the mount while using a saw or grinder to cut the piece off. I used lag screws and a large piece of wood to hold it and an angle grinder to make the cut. This was installed with a rough country cold air intake.

Great
I placed this on my newly acquired 2001 Jeep Wrangler SE.Personally, I have experienced better idle, more power, and a throaty exhaust sound increase. I have stock exhaust that is original for the Jeep, so that surprised me. I also have a cold air intake, so that helps as well. The Jeep 4 cyl is anemic and weak at best..so this is not gonna make it a speed racer. The Jeep was made to climb mountains not run races. I haven’t put the Jeep on the dyno to confirm or deny, I just know my current results. I know nothing about fuel mileage difference as I have other issues to fix on my Jeeps suspension and breaking to drive it far now. There is plenty of controversy over these items, I can just speak on what I’ve experienced. It is cheap enough too that if it is just snake oil, no big loss as it is about the price of an oil change!

its alright
Ive seen a lot of reviews that said it doesn't work, doesn't add power or mpg. so I wanted to try it out and my jeep usually get like 14mpg and with the spacer on I was getting 12 mpg. I didn't like it, it made my transmission shift funny and late. when I took the spacer off my jeep was happier without it. very easy to install and uninstall tho.
