Good 2-Bulb Ballast Replacement
After a little comparison, this ballast turned out to be the equivalent replacement for a 2-bulb OEM ballast, that was +20 years old, and was beginning to fail (long time to light the fluorescent bulbs). The new ballast was smaller and much lighter than the OEM unit, it had clear, color-coded wires and installed relatively quickly. Worked well immediately after installation, and bulbs light quickly and even seem to have improved light output. A good repair project for most DIY folks, even with minimal skills and available tools.

Easy to fit and works perfectly
I bought two of these for a pensioner whose kitchen lights had failed. The original ballasts were over 20 years old. These were a perfect fit - the tab on one end fitting into a slot in the fixture and the other screwed down. So although narrower, the length matched the old ballasts perfectly. Leads were also plenty long enough for a 4 foot T12 tube fitting - had no problem teasing out the old wires and inserting the new.In operation the two neon fixtures (total of 4 tubes) came on instantly, no flicker and no noise. This was a much cheaper solution that upgrading to LED's so if you're on a budget I can easily recommend these ballasts as a cost effective solution for older fittings.

Good replacement for my old ballasts.
My fluorescent light was getting slow to come on, and I replaced the bulbs. The new bulbs worked better, but they were still a bit slow. I was not up to replacing the fixture with a new LED light, especially since I just bought new fluorescent bulbs. I decided to try replacing the ballasts, and the "Philips RELB2S40N35I, Ballast 2 Bulb Electronic T-12" worked great!Installation is easy. Be sure to turn off the power to your light fixture at your breaker box. Cut the wires on your old ballasts leaving some wire there to attach your new ballast to. Unscrew your old ballast and install the new one. I cut mine about in half. The wires on the new ballast were plenty long to reach the appropriate locations in my fixture. Just match up the wire colors from your fixture to the ballast, strip the wires back a bit, and attach them with some wire nuts. The wire nuts were not included. It does not matter which color wire goes to which side (Polarity), only that the colors match. Tie up your hanging wires, attach the shield, install the bulbs, turn on your breaker, and let the light shine!

Worked fine, no box
Worked fine you need 6 wire nuts to install and the tabs were all bent up. No box at all did what it was supposed to do.

Good replacement for T12 40W
Had to replace two ballasts in a four-bulb (T12, 40W) fixture. Quite simple, just have to cut and wire nut all the new connecting wires to the old wires by color code (doesn't matter which red goes to which red, etc, as long as they connect to the same set of wires as the old ballast for my two-ballast fixture). Bit of a pain to do it overhead but not hard. When I first turned the light switch on I had a "pop" and one bulb went out, but I had noticed the end of that bulb was black, also another bulb was dim. Then replaced all four bulbs and works great. Read somewhere you should replace all the bulbs when putting in new ballast, appears to be true in my case.

No more buzzing, flickering, or delays.
I was initially intimidated with changing the ballasts in my basement, but after a quick youtube tutorial I was ready to go. These Phillips ballast worked perfectly. Oddly enough to they're half the size of my ones, but still mounted easily since the hole matched up. Now the lights no make that loud buzzing sound, don't flicker anymore, there's no delays turning on and that turn on everytime where in the past id have to try multiple times. Also they're half as much on Amazon as they are at Home depot. I highly recommend them!
