This organic yarrow smells pleasantly of a complicated cooking herb. It smells and tastes fairly mild, but it's definitely unique. Yarrow is actually named after Achilles, the Greek Trojan War leader, who used it during battle. He bound his warriors' feet in the herb to stop bleeding and heal their wounds more quickly... and Yarrow is well known for how quickly it works. Yarrow is said to be a cure-all in a variety of modalities and cultures. Like spearmint, it's known as an "amphoteric," meaning it moves to the location in or where it's needed. Yarrow can be both stimulating and calming, depending on your needs. It reduces swelling/ inflammation, and helps reduce fevers. It heals bruises, wounds and sprains, regulates periods, eases cramps and menstrual symptoms, lessens gas and bloating, helps GI issues, triggers hunger, and supports liver functions. Oddly, Yarrow triggers bleeding and also stops bleeding- it's got an unusual dual nature. Yarrow is generally very safe for people to use, but not necessarily for pregnant women. Drink this herb as a tea, use as an oil or tincture, or apply as a salve or poultice. I love Starwest's affordable 4 oz. bag sizes, unlike Wild's wildly over-priced 4 oz. bags. I love the sturdy resealable bags, unlike brands like Frontier (for which I've had to purchase 2 packages of resealable bags). It's all much appreciated since I really don't need 16 ounces of every herb I'd like to try. I would be much more limited in the variety I could purchase, and I've already wasted plenty of money on large bulk sizes of herbs I don't like or use. This organic yarrow flower is a nice, fresh-smelling, mellow herb, and I don't think most people would really dislike it.

I use this for making healing salve. It has a wonderful smell and seems very fresh. Good sized bag and value. Very effective herb.

The dried herbs were very nice, and good quality.

This plant is a miracle worker for me. I have cystitis in my bladder and can get very ill. A cup of tea a day keeps this at bay. It is bitter, so be forewarned! I'm a repeat customer of this brand and they are consistently good.
