ASICS Men's Gel-Rocket 9 Volleyball Shoes

First, let me start off by saying that this is a great shoe for the price. The out sole is really great and is unbelievable the way it grips the floor and the shoe looks even better in real. These shoes are definitely made for people that use custom insoles and ankle braces. However, like another review, this shoe run large by 1/2 to 1 size depending on how narrow your feet are. I normally wear a 9/9.5 depending on the brand so ordered both sizes and both felt large for my feet. If you have narrow feet like me, you don't feel the shoe is hugging your feet which you need for agility in high intensity sports. The insoles of this shoe are the thickest of all insoles i have ever seen and for the first time my superfeet insoles are thinner than these insoles. As a result, the shoe felt a bit large when i tried them on with my superfeet insoles. I have tried putting the original insoles back in and kind of jumped for a while a home to get a feel for the shoe. I have immediately notices my ankles start to hurt because these insoles have no arch or heel impact support. Also,I felt a lack of cushion in this shoe (compared to my mizunos and addidas), except from those thick insoles, to absorb the impact of constant jumping in Volleyball.Bottom line: It is a great beginner volleyball shoe and you can use them for training, recreational games but if you are a competitive/ aspiring competitive player like me, you should have other supplemental stuff like custom insoles and ankle braces to make this work.Pros: Price, Space for custom orthotics and ankle braces, style and color.Cons: Cushion, not for narrow feet, runs largeNote: this review is based on my assessment at home as i did not want to try them in an actual game because then i won't be able to return them.

I had the Gel-Rocket 8 and since they have starting to wear, I decided to purchase the Gel-Rocket 9 for a new season of racquetball. There are very few gum-soled shoes on the market designed for indoor racquet play. The ASICS provide good lateral support, even for larger players. The soles are secured well. The Gel-Rocket 8’s show very little sign of wear and there has been no separation at the sole. These due feature a gel sole and this is one of the most useful features. Before using these, I was using a tennis court shoe. Not only did they not stick to the court as well, but after an hour of play, the impact can take a toll on your feet. With the gel soles, this is almost never an issue. I really have nothing bad to say about these shoes and I struggle to recommend any improvement. Great shoes for racquetball and my new standard.

I just upgraded from the Gel Rocket 7's that I've been using for the past 2 years. I really didn't need a new pair of volleyball sneakers but decided to get the newer model since the price was too good to pass up. These Gel Rocket 9's are even better than the 7's that I loved. I've had them for 2 months now and glad to report no issues. They fit great and are very comfortable. I'm very pleased with the durability of the ASICS products so I expect this pair to last just as long or longer as my last pair.

Got them yesterday... tried on I’m a reg. 9 men’s perfect for ASICS. These where a full thumb + to long. Width was still good and I have wider then normal feet but not full on wides. The soul is rock hard and just horrible actually I mean hard no support or padding or anything just rock hard.Quality was still good for ASICS but soul is dumb. Update I returned them over a wk ago still don’t have the money back in my account and the return has been processed. On top of that the return is not the full amount they shorted me $5 bucks. Thought it was some type of surcharges nope the numbers look to be made up almost... probably just a computer error but has not been a easy return refund process as all! Still on going ....Update this is not a free return it will cost you a $1 at ups store and then the company charges you $5.29 for returns and deducts it from original payment... will never order from them again.

Perfect fit! My husband loves it. He’s usually picky with his table tennis shoes, but this is by far his favorite. He said that they are comfortable and it didn’t hurt his feet.

I read to buy a 1/2 size smaller and I did .. thank you reviewers , I wear a E width and this shoe has a wide toe Box , so my normal 1/2 size larger wasn't necessary,A half size smaller due to the wide toe box was a helpful piece of review. I love it . This shoe fits my wide foot excellent. Appears to be a great shoe , I don't play volleyball but I do play indoor rec room sports ,i.e. Wood floors ,tile, parquet, this works. 4 stars because I have just bought them but the fit and feel ... 5 stars .Update: 10/10/19 So far, an excellent shoe BUT I would buy a full size not a half size smaller

I was hoping these would be more like the Gel Rocket 7, which I loved. But these seem a lot like the Gel Rocket 8. Which are fine, but the inside heel cup wears through too quickly. Rest of the shoe is perfect still.

Though labeled as volleyball shoes, I use them for all indoor activities that require anti-slip functions.Have used them twice and they work pretty well.The only problem I have is these shoes are not washer friendly that I will have to handwash them.

Good comfy shoes , wearing for badminton , not helped my game any!!! But that’s nothing to do with shoe .
