Great air filter but gives a fight on install
The product is very straight forward to install yet you need to fight the box for it to close, allows for better airflow and is a great replacement for the OEM one from Mazda, I totally recommend the product.

K&N is the one to get
You need to change your air filter anyway. Or if you get your oil changed at the local Lift-N-Lube, they'll hit you up for it. Charge you 30 bucks or whatever every second or third time you show up. Get your own. Get a K&N and use it for the lifetime of your car. Grab some filter cleaner and oil and take care of your own car. At least a small part of it. I've swapped in these filters for every vehicle I've owned.

K&N air filter for my 2011 MX-5 SE
I ordered this filter and paid for the premium shipping in order to install it in time for a road trip with my Car club. I received the filter in two days and left for my road trip the next day, so all was good there. I had hoped I could report that I noticed all that additional power and fantastic gas mileage but in all honesty I could not tell much difference (certainly wasn't worse). I gave it 5 stars because it is a very well built and high quality air filter that will no doubt last as long as the car. The only thing you will ever need to do is clean it every 25,000 to 50,000 miles and the way I figure, that after one cleaning (avoiding buying OEM filter) I have almost paid for the cost of the K&N and still have it for miles/years to come. I would highly recommend if you want to buy a quality permanent air filter for your ride, but if you are looking for some big performance increase and substantially higher fuel mileage you might be disappointed. I was very satisfied with the purchase and the shipping speed.

Installed the K&N filter in my 2011 Miata. A good fit. I have used the K&N filter many times. I have it in all my vehicles now..4 autos and 2 motorcycles. Like the fit and the ease of cleaning and reusing. A good price from Amazon. Amazon had the fitment updated for the 2011 model before K&N did.

Perfect fitting is a pain in the behind
It fits in my 2011 Nc Mx5 but goodness mee you have to perfectly place the filter and the cover to align in order to close it. Other than that easy to clean and last very long

It does what it claims, but don't expect much.
I installed this filter on my 2010 Mazda MX-5 about a month ago.If your looking to buy this for the performance, it's really not going to do much. I've noticed a very slight increase in throttle response and a slightly different engine sound when I'm really getting on it. Other than that it doesn't do much. On average I've gained maybe 2-5mpg from this, so don't expect it to pay for itself right away.However, from what I can tell from other people testing performance gains from a cold air intake to this, it's about the same. (cai usually gains 5hp on the high end and I've seen this filter get up to 5hp on a dyno test)Also, the installation was moderately difficult because this doesn't fit as easily as an OEM paper filter. As long as you're not afraid to force it in (and make sure to align it right) you should be okay.Overall it does what it says it does, but everything you gain from this is very subtle and considering its not much more than the paper filter and it's washable and comes with a million mile warranty, it's worth getting when it's time to replace your filter, but I wouldn't rush to get this.It loses one star for being a little frustrating to install with only giving vague instructions.

Entgegen vieler Aussagen hier, passt der Filter ohne Probleme am MX5 NC 2.0 Baujahr 2013.Über den Sinn oder Unsinn dieses Filters äußere ich mich nicht. Das muss jeder selbst entscheiden.
