I got first order and the candy was hard. I pondered sending it back but the bag had no chance once opened. This was my favorite (and rare) candy of childhood - and I had not tasted it in 40 years. The 2nd order was fresh [and soft] like I remember. So I suggest, open the bag upon arrival, bite one in half. If it resists, send it back. Chances are the next one will be fresh - at least to my experience. Overall, a worthy purchase and very enjoyable product. Remember to have an airtight container to store them in. They harden overnight if left exposed to the air. That's why I said open bag and bite before the air has a chance to taint your return.

Hard as a bag of Rocks! I will never purchase anything without reading reviews first!!! These are not just rock hard but after cutting a piece of and trying to eat it, they are STALE! How old are these really?

I was hoping they would be soft and delicious. They did taste good buy were not soft as I wanted.

I’ve been buying these for the past six months or so, determining this company is 5 star, the best and most authentic tasting, therefore giving them all my business. Never had a problem until this shipment. It’s awful. Not sure what happened, but everything is melted, stuck together in a big glob, I’m not able to separate the pieces, it’s hard to get out of the bag and the taste/flavor is compromised. Hoping the company or Amazon can do better in the future.

I love these candies and these taste great but are quite stale and hard. I wish I could give these 5 stars but due to being stale and difficult to eat and enjoy 3 stars is the best I can do
