David Walliams Book.
This book was bought for my granddaughter who will be 10 this month. Her reading is coming on really well and she loves these books. She reads them herself, and doesn't find them hard at all. She has many of them and she is very happy with every one she has been given.

Childhood trauma relived
Great book to inform young readers about the potential horrors at school. I bought it for my children but browsing through it made me relive the countless punishments, sanctions and extra homework piled upon me during my school years back in the 1970’s/1980’s. It was a different age and I was no angel but some of these tutors might have had personal issues. Take Miss Cotton, our needlework teacher that forced her unruly pupils to design and create their own straitjackets. Herr Schweinhart, the German language teacher that was so keen on “zucht und ordnung” that he didn’t shy away from enforcing that principle by hitting the pupils on the head with his voluminous Goethe works. And my PE teacher that not only punished my disobedience with countless of push ups but also visibly enjoyed me not being left out and not chosen by any team in case of uneven class numbers… It’s all too painful really. So it’s good that finally some research has been done on the subject. And that some of the worst cases are exposed in this excellent hard cover book that is presented very well and illustrated by appropriate art. Thank you Mr. Walliams.
