Is this chocolate ethical?

Although Lindt claim to oversee everything “from bean to bar” there have been reports about not “managing to keep child labour out of its production process”. It all comes up in google. Amazon isn’t exactly ethical either, including climate change, environmental reporting, habitats & resources, pollutions and toxics, arms & military supply, human rights, worker's rights, supply chain management, irresponsible marketing, animal rights, animal testing, factory farming, use of controverial technologies, political activies, and anti-social finance. If you want to pursue ethical purchases, which is particularly hard to do during these times and in this day and age tbh, perhaps try buying from independent stores and companies and buying locally sourced produce so that there is actual tracking on where your products are coming from.

All our Lindt production sites globally are peanut free since 2016. The "may contain nuts" warning informs you that the product may contain minute traces of nuts because they are produced on the same production lines. Traces of almond, hazelnut, pistachio, macadamia, cashew or pecan could be present in very rare cases because chocolates containing nuts are manufactured on the same lines or in the same production area. I think so yes. According to their website those who are sensitive to gluten, they do offer certain premium high cocoa content products that are manufactured without any cereal or barley malt. Including white chocolate.
