GACE English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) 119, 120 Teacher Certification Test Prep Study Guide: GACE ESOL (XAM GACE, 1)

This book is allright. I didn’t take the test yet, but their are several mistakes in the answer key which made it confusing. Also, the practice tests questions are confusing and are not questions I would ever ask my students because if their ambiguity. I don’t think they reflect at all the actual test questions.

I used online resources, other study guides, etc. This was by far the best. It followed the test content, was easy to read, and well organized.

Very good study guide. Love the practice test and the examples for essays. I take the test tomorrow so I'll see if it served me well!I found an error in the key (at least I strongly believe it is an error). On p. 162 the answer to #16 should be1. Chomsky = C. Nature is more important than nurture2. Piaget = D. Language is a reflection of thought.3. Vygotsky = B. Social communication promotes language and cognition.4. Collier = A. Children are active learners who construct their worlds.The key has all the answers I see as right above as wrong, though I can justify each of my answers. Hey publisher! Its okay...LOTS of typos in terms of the answer keys for the practice test. There are 2 sets of answer keys for the same questions- one with just the answers and the other with the answers plus an explanation. On 4 different questions- the same question was given 2 different "right" answers. The references made back to the text in terms of where the information was found was often incorrect.The info is very thorough and the practice test is challenging- much harder than what is provided (for free!) on the GACE website.
