Bear Creek Soup Mix, Darn Good Chili, 9.8 Ounce

I bought these on Amazon because you could not find them in the stores and everywhere else online they were more expensive. They are back in the stores and at their normal price. I add to the mix 1# ground beef, 1 can of diced tomatoes and a can of kidney beans. It stretches it out and I like it better with more tomatoes. Otherwise the only thing you have to add is tomato paste and water.

This is a good tasting chili mix for those times u don't feel like or have time to cook an all day affair with making chili the right way. I did read the reviews before I bought this product & they're right about the gas. Whewwww! Watch out! Don't have any of this chili if u plan on being around ANYONE u don't want to offend...lol..For reference, I followed the instructions by adding canned tomatoes & paste, adding my own seasonings & a tablespoon of sugar to tone down acids & I used ground turkey instead of beef. I think it's the dried beans that cause the gas issues. Any bean is usually the culprit, but these dried beans must have some other kind of magic. Good value for the amount it makes. I split mine in 1/2 because I am cooking for 1 some days.

On the positive side, this makes a full crockpot of chili and is extremely easy to use. It's a hearty blend with an interesting mix of different dried beans/spices/etc and cooked fairly quick. The downside is that for some reason, the specific mix of grain rice and spice blend in here smells IDENTICAL to the grain we used to feed the horses when I worked on a farm. As much as I wanted to like this, I just couldn't get past the feeling that I was eating a bowl filled with molasses horse pellets....Husband thought it was fine, to each their own.

Ok so my husband and I both really love all the Bear Creek products. We have loved every single one we have tried. When at the regular grocery store we typically buy all they have on the shelf. Lol he realized a few days ago our store has raised the price. I guess when they figure out someone is buying them out....they seize the day.What we love is most of the soups only require 8 cups of water and 10 to 25 minutes til you are eating a home meal that tastes like it simmered all day. Great purchased when you think of it...a whole pot of soup for about $3.....cant go wrong...add a salad and you are set! Will be byying more for sure.

Great favor. Easy to make. I usually had a can each of black beans and diced tomatoes, but not necessary. Makes enough for a large family

I could mention thickness flavor and warmth but I won’t. I’ll instead mention color texture and enjoyment. Colors are good when you add some corn it’s even better. I threw in an extra can of beans and some ground beef. All good. In fact it’s Darn Good!

This is so delicious and easy to make. Also it makes a lot.
